How much power does Floyd have left? How hard was he hitting Conor in his last fight? At what point in his career did his punch power diminish? Out of 10 how does he power rate now?
Floyd's not feather-fisted like people think. He's also not heavy-handed either. I'd say his power is slightly above average which is helped by his accuracy. So a solid 6 or 7. Do you think Ortiz would survive a flush sucker punch from Pac, Thurman, Danny, Spence, or Crawford?
He might not be featherfisted but he has below average power. I've seen him hit opponents with crisp, precise punches over and over to no effect. That could be considered featherfisted.
Good power at 130 and 135 hand problems hurt his power. Average power at 140 and 147. Still hits hard enough to get your respect with clean counters and punches you dont see.
For a world champ his power at 147 was below average. Average power for a champ at 130 and 135. Most champs he fought hit as hard or harder than him at 130. A guy like Loma would have below average power for a champ.
Good power at 130 and 135. Decent respectable power at 140. Below average at 147, he surprised his opponents with his timing and speed rather than hurting them at 147 imo.
id say above average I don't think you can hang at the world level without at least above average punch
At 130 he had very good power dropped and stopped most guys he fought. At 135 about the same but started having hand problems.
The vast majority of his 27 fights at 130 were against cans. Tony Duran, Felipe Garcia, Angelo Nunez, Kino Rodriguez, etc. I dont know who these guys are.
If he hit hard enough to tame and mute Canelo then he hits hard enough. Also, you see that most of his opponents tried to box him? Even though he was a much better boxer than them all, why's that? They did not want to get hit, or more precisely, get caught with a shot they did not see coming. Overall, he did not have one punch KO power but he did still have more than enough power to keep guys honest. He had the respect of his opponents.
