How can you even compare the two? How is Hearn hosting a fight in Saudi Arabia wrong?

I don't think old fish eyes is going to enjoy the autobiography by the sound of it.

I didn't compare them. Just said both are wrong.

Because the country is one of the worst in the world for human rights, obviously. He's gone there for the money and nothing else. I'm not giving out about it by the way, I'm just saying it's wrong and it is.

Of course he did it for business- that’s not even worth pointing out. However, the notion that Warren is some kind of devil out to fleece fighters and hurt the sport, is complete nonsense which is what I’m saying. If you cut the old cnut in half, he will bleed boxing.

Bazza Hearn was nowhere to be seen In the aftermath of the Watson incident and as I said, he didn’t pony up any of the money to help the board.

I would have to check, but I think he did a runner from the sport straight afterwards. I don’t know if your old enough to remember, but British Boxing was under major pressure from the government/media after Watson, and it was down to people like Warren and Barry Mcguigan who were influential in helping to usher in additional fighter safety measures whilst Barry Hearn ran off to do Snooker and Darts etc.

The difference being that Hearn was making a fortune from other sports and would survive if boxing took a hit. Warren on the other hand would be completely screwed as he only had one sport in his 'Sports Network'.

Tell that to somebody like Daniel Dubois...he went to speak to Eddie as well as Frank when he went pro.

He choose Frank as he offered more money and is now British Champ after being steered very well and is growing rapidly in popularity.

Some fighters are better suited to go to Eddie and some to Frank....there is no set answer.

And tell that to Kevin Mitchell, Ricky Burns, Joe Calzaghe and all the others who Warren rinsed over the years, stalled careers, liquidated companies in order to avoid paying up and so on.

Terrible prompter who's happy for his clients to suffer as long as he coins it in.

As a West Ham fan Kev was someone I warmed to and always rooted for. I was so frustrated with the way he sometimes approached fights, I think he needed to be away from East London to fully focus. That Linares fight was heartbreaking, after that he was done. A far better boxer than he's often given credit for, such a shame he never won a World Title.

Yeah he does a great job with some guys but he shouldn’t really be allowed to have a licence with all the downright shady stuff he has pulled and careers he has ruined.

Even now he just lets fighters sit on the shelf gathering dust, unable to move elsewhere.

    No it’s not.

You are not being objective. He has ruined careers and ripped off fighters, venues and anyone else he can.Wound up company after company to avoid paying them back and used strong arm tactics to ensure a fighter does what he wants them to do.

It’s all there in the court hearings if you want? But then you know all this anyway and are happy to turn a blind eye.See I like Warren and a lot of what he stands for,but he treats fighters inhumanly with far too much regularity to make a living in any other sport than boxing.

I know some very knowledgeable guys in the sport, people that have worked with him and close to him, people that have fought on his shows and people that understand the business. He is ruthless and has no compassion to anyone other than his current blue eyed boy.

I like his matchmaking, his current activity with BT and I supported BN but to say he isn’t a ruthless conman is nonsense and you should know better.

Kevin Mitchell as I and others have already posted in this thread is not exactly Mother Theresa in this scenario. I will take it a step further and say that not only was Frank bailing him out with thousands of pounds, I remember hearing stories that Frank had to ask the Guvnor at Rainham Steel to give him a job on the tools so he could at least be earning until he could stop drinking/snorting and gambling long enough to get back to boxing. Why do you think Jimmy Tibbs kicked him out of the gym?

Ricky Burns LOST his case against Warren, after being wrongly advised by the Hearn’s that he Would win in court. As for Burns’ career, Warren did a great job in steering a tough but limited fighter to achieve World Champion status, after forking out to bring the Champion over to give him home advantage.

Joe Calzaghe - your really scrapping the barrel here. He and Warren have no issue with each other and Joe has been ringside several times since their burst up, Yes there was a court case, the judge at the time whilst ruled the case in Joe’s favour, made it clear that he basically found each party were at fault. As for the way he steered his career, considering the fact that Joe was terrified of getting on a plane and had well known confidence issues, Warren did as good a job as anybody could do with him and in the end he had a great, well paying, unbeaten career.
