Didn't Wilder tear a bicep in that fight?

Hard to give him a hope of even going the distance against Dempsey with a torn bicep.

I don't know I just know it's the only real performance since winning the temple where he's not lost rounds he shouldn't. You can take the Ortiz Wilder or really any

Dempsey vs Firpo repeat. Great fight, but Wilder was going life and death with Fury, doubt he'd hang long with someone of Dempsey's caliber and killer instinct

Dempsey and this because he's got a large speed and accuracy edge on Wilder. JD starts fast, Wilder starts slow. It takes a while (usually) for Wilder to get the range on his better opponents and I think that JD could get the fight over with before Wilder can do anything of the sort. Of course Wilder has a chance with his power (and maybe even a reasonable one at that) but if I had to put money it would be on Dempsey.

What does 6'9 Fury with a 85 inch reach have to do with Dempsey's chances?

Anybody taking blow from Wilder thats hard enough to knock them out of the ring is in no way even getting back into it . Not a chance.

Think of Bob Forsters dome almost coming off against Frazier. Thats what this fight might look like if Wilder connects a clean power punch on a forward marching Dempsey.

Dempsey lacks the tools or mentality for this one. Most probable outcome is that he gets out-athleted and hammered with power he has never before tasted. Wilder is no shrinking violet. He always throws with power and is completely unhesitant in that matter. So, with each getting to their desired range, Wilder arrives first and Jack goes night-night.

P4P I certainly know who was better.

H2H though size is huge factor here. Wilder be the smart call.

Interesting fight, I'd like to see Dempsey fight against Fulton to know a bit more about it.

One thing is sure - Wilder has enough power to KO Dempsey and he's not chinny. Interesting fight because Wilder wouldn't fight another slow, heavy, stationary target. He'd fight someone quicker than himself and that could hurt him a lot in this matchup.

Dempsey would have to be extremely focused though. With Firpo or Brennan fights approach he could lose here.

Can Jack draw the color line on this one? Otherwise, he's going to sleep.

Punching down is difficult. Punches lose power.

Wilders skinny body will be right there and Dempsey would be crowding Wilder in close where he won’t be able to hit Dempsey. Jack would be landing crippling body blows to the liver, heart, solar plexus. Wilder does not have the defense or jab to keep Dempsey off of him. Fight won’t go two rounds.

He certainly didn't look unhesitant, let alone completely unhesitant, against Fury, or in numerous other fights where he gave up round after round.
