How many times was Joe Frazier knocked down?

How many times did he get back up?

 

Contrary to popular belief I don't believe Frazier was dropped against Bruce but rather received a standing 8 count.

 

Probably slipped against Bruce.

 

But Frazier never fought any power hitters besides Foreman and he got wrecked both times. Quarry hit hard and Bonavena, but I would rank him a lot higher if he fought and beat Lyle, Shavers, and Mac Foster. Personally I think he was lucky, and Quarry beat all three so he wouldn't have to fight them.

 

I can't find anything on the Bruce fight. You have any sources?

Mike Bruce definitely dropped Frazier.

Some say Joe was dropped in the second and stopped him next round but most have him being dropped in the first for an 8 count. Either way it was a solid legitimate knock down that Frazier has talked about himself. It was Joe's second pro fight while Bruce was 4-1-0 which makes it rather inconsequential for me.
