I think it will be announced sometime this week, seems they are having a presser and also announcing GGG's partnership with Eddie Hearn.

 

Do you know if Tom Loeffler will still be in the picture?

 

Not sure, I'm guessing no. Seems like he would just be an extra check to cut.

 

Personally I can't conceive of it happening on that date, that's only a six week turnaround, and these are higher level guys, but apparently there aren't a whole lot more days available.

Cool. I dig the fight, probably middleweight's two best pure technicians. But of course it will end up being quibbled over between Canelo stans/ GGG haters calling it a cherrypick and GGG stans overrating its significance and hoping to read too much into a performance compared favorably against Jacobs'...

 

It's a great fight. I can't wait to see how GGG and SD matchup. I expect a lot of fireworks if this happens. SD just has a style that makes for a great fight, especially vs GGG or Canelo. Some have argued that SD did enough to get the win vs Jacobs but I think the KD was the difference. Hopefully it gets signed, no way is this a cherrypick for GGG. Both GGG and SD had close fights vs Jacobs so it makes sense.

 

When Iole announced it was all but signed, I said it was a breath of fresh air to have this fight made.

I fully expect GGG to win, as I believe him to be a class above Drevyanchenko, but it should be a good fight, and I'm glad GGG is fighting a top fighter.

 

I'd set it 65-35 in GGG's favor at this point.
