This guy has officially reached complete moron status. Hopefully it only takes 2 rounds next time.

Career on the line, reputation at stake, thats a boat load of pressure for AJ going into the rematch. He is going to have to be some strong minded son of a sawn off to handle that and get the win in the rematch.

    I'm going with Ruiz repeat.

Still not as big of a fight as if he had just won the first time. Thats the point here. It can’t be billed as 2 undefeated heavyweight champions. That shine is gone.

He landed that same shot repeatedly throughout the fight. Which means it wasn't lightning.

It sounds like you're about as delusional as AJ.

He’s just getting himself ready for the rematch, calm down clowns. He’s telling himself what he needs to, this is good. It also adds to the intrigue and the event. Just see it for what it is instead of having a cry. This is a sign that he is taking it very seriously.

Joshua is trying to take the fear out of his mind. That's why he has told other people recently that Ruiz is not that great or Ruiz is not the serious threat blah blah blah........ He is just trying to build up his confidence after the TKO loss by using his words. In fact, he is not so sure whether he can beat Ruiz in the rematch or not.

I suspect this is the case. AJ has all the tools to beat Ruiz, except one: his mental state. If he can't pull it together he's going down again.

It's boxing, nothing surprises me. He got knocked once and tried to protect himself plenty afterwards and still got floored 3 more times.

I always worry about a fighter who quits, especially one who's making the types of excuses AJ has been lately.

I think this is the wrong attitude, isn't this the same attitude he displayed in the first fight? Dimissing Ruiz?

He needs to be scared, he needs to be on the edge, he needs to be fighting for his life, this is how he will beat Ruiz... that would be a terrifying AJ.

Depends on what your definition of a quitter is, I saw a fight between Tyson vs Bruce Seldon, now Bruce is what I call quitter, barely got touched on the forhead, and dived quickly to the canvas and acted concussed.

That guy was knocked down by fear.

AJ was genuinely concussed, and still got up 3 more times off the canvas to give it a go. I don't see any quit in him. He'll prove a lot in the rematch.

I don't think it's very different than what Walters/Marriage/Rigo did vs Loma. I'm sure all 3 of them were concussed as well, and like AJ, they made the decision not to continue. Spitting your mouthpiece out that voluntarily is a pretty clear sign of not wanting to fight anymore.

Now we can argue if that's the right thing to do or not and I think fighters should always do what's best for them & their health, but we still have to call it what it is, quitting.

Well who am I to say if he spat it out voluntarily, we all do things involuntarily when we are hurt, or tired, or distracted. Happens everyday. Sometimes I'll wake up in the morning brush my teeth, and put my tooth brush in the fridge before realizing what I did.

Sometimes I'll accidently drive with the handbrake on, doesn't mean I don't want to drive.

If he had the heart of a champion and think this was a fluke he would have done what Lennox Lewis did when he got knocked out. Rematch immediately and KO The guy.

All the excuses on why he lost and the circus around making the rematch happen shows he isn’t confident and this was no fluke.

This is true, I was never a Lennox Lewis fan but he certainly had mental toughness. It takes a lot to come back and get the KO after being knocked out.
