Marvin Hagler's chin would hold up. James Toney at 160 would stay in pocket with him. Who else? I think most would have to use a back foot game. A few can probably bomb with him from the outside, but toe to to?

Canelo stood toe to toe with an older GGG.

Marvelous Marvin Hagler would have walked him down and pieced him up.

Whoaaa I'm all about some GGG but I don't know about that. Hagler, Toney and Hopkins were some bad M'fer's
But I will say this....NO one could back up 24 year old to current GGG.

Hopkins never fought toe to toe.. Or Roy Jones.

I'm talking about someone who could stand infront of GGG and not back up and do well for 12-15 rounds.

I'd say most of the great middleweights could give a good account of themselves agaist Golovkin and I'd favour some (on pedigree, at least) to win against him. The converse is also true. I don't think Golovkin would be overwhelmed by any MW in history and that he'd give a good account of himself, win or lose.

Hagler and Monzon are the obvious examples. Eubank was a durable guy who could stand the heat. Toney had a ATG chin. There are a lot of other examples.

I can only assume you haven't seen many early Hopkins fights.

Gerald McClellan and Julian Jackson both would have banged with him.

I'd favor GGG slightly over the 160 version of Jackson, but McClellan was a monster and would be a substantial favorite imo.
