How old is Golovkin now? 37? Yeah, other fighters are getting bolder now. Let's see how well Canelo is doing at 37.

I mean, SD is 33¾ himself... not exactly a hungry young lion coming out to pick on the grey mane.

I hope you factored in Golovkin making Canelo miss wildly and shaking him with better punches in II. ;)

I like Canelo but his best skill is fooling the judges. If he actually fought for at least 2 minutes a round I'd be his number one fan. The guy either goes backwards, bends his waist and ducks and slips punches for 2 minutes and 30 seconds and then throws 2 or 3 flashy combinations, or plods forward with roughly the same output. If he ever lost an actual decision, it would benefit him, because he'd become a better fighter. But the guy knows that if he lands a clean punch or two a round the majority of the judges will give him the nod. And he should have lost the first fight widely because he didn't do crap in that fight. He did better in the second one because he knew he has to do better to win (still came up just a little short if you ask me). The Mayweather cards were as bizarre as the Byrd card in GGG1.

You do realize Golovkin missed at a higher rate, and that he also landed less power punches than Canelo, right??

    Wrong twice in once sentence.

Canelo landed more power shots on Golovkin than Jacobs landed on Derevyanchenko.. Why couldn't Golovkin out-land Canelo in both fights

Punch variation out scores jabs. Judges understand that landing a body shot requires more skill and exerts more energy than landing a jab that most of the time was slipped or dodged. Body shots > jabs.

He missed 500 punches in fight #1..500 . That simply doesn't go unaccounted for.
He got out landed on power shots. That doesn't go unaccounted for either.

Beautiful boxing by both men, but like I have been saying Golovkin did the better boxing in the 2nd half of fight. Golovkin slipped and blocked many punches, hard to see live.

Lol, oh these videos. There's also videos out there saying why Pac beat Marquez in the third fight, and how Marquez was actually the one who got KTFO. You just have to watch it in slow mo, volume turned down, and drink a 5th of Vodka.

****ing compubox warriors, can't stand them at all!
Boxing isn't just scored by punches landed, there is more to it.

They totally neglect that defense, clean punching, ring generalship, and effective aggression are the ONLY scoring factors.

They just tally up the numbers and ignore the fact that one is supposed to score round by round basis. And what do you do if one guy lands just a handful more punches? Give him the round based on that?
Yeah, this isn't amateur boxing; things don't work like that. But simpletons be simpletons.

I agree. Golovkin wobbled Canelo and clearly landed the bigger punches in the rematch :deal:
