In an interview a while ago, Lomachenko stated he wouldn't go up to 140lbs for the Mikey Garcia fight, with his upper limit being 135lbs as he is admittedly a super-featherweight naturally.

However, if he gets through Campbell (which is pretty likely), I personally don't see the likes of Lopez, Haney, Davis etc being able to beat him, so where does that leave Loma in terms of avenues to pursue? Does he just float around the 130/135 mark, or does he challenge himself even further and go up to 140 to take on bigger fighters and potentially the likes of Garcia, Taylor, Prograis and Ramirez etc? What do you guys think?

I still think we see Pac-Loma at 140 next year.

I don't think he'll ever campaign there full time, but for the right fight, I could see a special appearance

I think moving down back to 130 lbs is more likely. Loma is really small lightweight. I know, Pacquiao was too, but he had enormous power and speed. Loma doesn't have that kind of power or quickness, it would be an uphill battle for him fighting much bigger guys fight after fight. I can see him coming up in the weight and fighting guy, who will be universally recognized best at 140 lbs, but I can't see him fighting at 140 lbs on the regular basis.

Only for Pacman, or if another superstar emerges at 140. He just isn't built for it, too small.

I thought Loma already made it clear that he felt he was too small and that he wasn't going up any higher for any fighter for any reason.

He is small at 135. Pac at 140 may be doable due to his size, but unlikely.

People who he can fight in 130/135 :
    • Richard Commey (Loma's primary target due to his belt)
    • Tank Davis (Loma's primary target)
    • Teofimo Lopez (possible mandatory fight / unification fight)
    • Miguel Berchelt
    • Devin Haney (possible mandatory fight)
    • Tevin Farmer
    • Robert Easter Jr. (possible mandatory fight)
    • Yuriorkis Gamboa
    • Oscar Valdez
There you go. He doesn't need to go up.

Manny looked like a tank in the ring against Thurman and. took his best shots. He would walk through Loma and knock him out. To big for Loma. People really need to stop bringing up this fight because its not going to happen and its not realistic.
