Dsg vs Herrera, it was an off night.. no doubt about it. Prince Patel in his last fight just seemed flat, you could see it in rd1. Any other night, maybe it was the atmosphere? Muti platnium, World renowned Tyga? It was quite intimidating, the crowd was reacting to every punch it was nerve racking. Roman Gonzalez getting brutalized was very strange to see as well. Can you name a Time a boxer just looked off??. Ggg in Panama with the flu?? Was there actual proof?
When fighters lose they have a habit of genuinely looking off, as in they somehow didn't look as good as the fights they won in.
Holyfield vs Moorer I. Heart problems or whatever, he proved it 2nd time around by thrashing Moorer. 2nd fight wasn't even competitive.
DGG's obvious gift against Herrera wasn't an off night, just a bad style matchup. Patel Briedis vs Gevor seems like an off night for me.
Kostya Tszyu v Vince Phillips Kostya didn't look right that night and would beat Phillips 9 times out of 10 . Congrats to Phillips though he got the win , Kostya though went on to be an out and out champion beating the likes of Sharmba Mitchell twice , Zab Judah and an ageing legend in Julio Cesar Chavez.
It had more to do with DSG being drained trying to make 140. You can't take anything away from Herrera, he deserved the win but a more healthy DSG could have handled him.
Wlad vs Fury, apparently domestic problems ruined Wlad´s entire preparation (mentally). Not Fury´s fault tho, and his style and game plan were a nightmare for Wlad regardless. And Briggs vs Sedreck Fields, Shannon did next to nothing for full eight rounds and lost.
John is an ATG featherweight with 19 title defence. But the Marquez fight was close enough to go either way. In fact quite a few people saw it as a robbery
No way wasn't a robbery John won clearly mate I remember it well. But JMM wasn't fully at the races that night
That's the fight I find contentious. It seemed to me Holy was suffering health-wise very early on in the fight. Though imo Moorer was one of the most bogus champs in history, I don't want to try devaluing his win (or by proxy the later Foreman win for that matter). Michael did win the first Holy fight, and he became champion. Foreman beat the champion (the same guy who beat the guy who solidly beat George).
