Michael Conlan states 90% of elite boxers are on illegal PEDs

I think Mike is an optimist.

 

Some people will never bend the rules, yet some here have refused to acknowledge that.
"But you could die so of course you would do whatever it takes".
At one point it becomes just another fight. You'd think after 100 amateur fights and years as a pro, the fear of dying would wane.
And for some, the risk of getting caught/physical health consequences is not worth the edge.

There are a few that might be clean. Danny Garcia and Keith Thurman for example don't look juiced up to me and I've spent years in gyms I know what someone looks like when they hop on the stuff.
Tyson fury is probably clean right now, can't afford to test positive again.
Wilder looked clean against fury and Ortiz.

Sometimes it's hard to tell when they have a naturally soft looking body type then they don't really look like bodybuilders even if theyre on something, if a Larry Holmes, Brandon rios or Joe Frazier used steroids it would only be obvious if you saw dramatic changes, not if they had been on it from the beginning.

 

I would argue that being a protected fighter gives you much more of an advantage then PEDs

The number of failed tests? So the 99% who haven't failed indicates that 90% are taking banned substances? Strong logic there.
Then you have conflated performance enhancing drug with banned drugs. What drugs are performance enhancing, backed by scientific evidence in elite athlete populations?
If there are in fact performance enhancing drugs, then to what extent do they improve performance and in which sport?
People really show their hand on this issue, they show just how dumb and uninformed they really are.

 

Whenever someone makes these accusations the only thing I think is "Hmmm, are you trying to justify something? It really sounds like you're trying to justify something. What might that be I wonder?"

Where's the option for 'Conlan thinks he knows what he couldn't possibly know, what is the motivation for that? Dude needs to be target tested'

 

Who knows what the percentages are. I’m sure many do. Others perhaps do not.

But this Conlan guy should give us a list of all boxers he considers elite and tell us which 10 percent are clean if he knows.
