I think the current HW division might be weaker than it was when Wlad and Vitali fought. It's not that the fighters at that time were bums, it's just that the Klitschko brothers were so much better than everyone else.
True, even second tier fighters in Klitschko era like Haye, Ibragimov , Chagaev, Peter, prime Povetkin or Thompson would be favourites or at least 50 50 with most current champs like Ruiz, Wilder or AJ.
Wlad an Vitali are in da legend book,$ good era "" loved what they showed in boxing there abilities of timing an power was always off da back foot .. lot's of good fight's da brother's show the world . Hay hay yes Best for long time .. . Yeah for Long time . Big Men Can Jump $$$
True. The problem is the top guys don't fight top ten guys in their prime. There is little presage in heavyweight belts these days, and that; on the champions. The talent level is low. Give it 2 more years, the up and comers are better.
"Second tier" being basically the biggest threat to title holders at the time, would be the biggest threat to current title holders? What a shock. And quite frankly the whole "favourite, or at least 50:50" is an awesome call to make when you can't be proven wrong - one I disagree with. Povetkin looked in fine form when he fought AJ, and got KTFO... it would have to be quite a big difference for him to suddenly become a favourite. I think if we had a time machine and pulled some of the guys of years gone by to now, applied current drug testing to them and got them to fight the current crop quite a few hats would be eaten - not saying the current guys would beat them, just saying the bullox talk that the current guys are weak will fall apart and actually things will give and take be quite competitive. There are different styles, different approaches, stricter drug testing but there is some decent talent right now... Usyk is coming up to heavyweight and he is in the discussion for ATG rankings of cruiserweights. Lets see how that plays out?
Hold on there kid. Dubois, Aqaba, Joyce, Gorman, Kownacki, Parker, H Fury. Patience is required among boxing fans. The big fights will come.
Lol I just dont see Gorman or Kownacki or H Fury making any waves.. Gorman already got exposed Parker has plenty of potential if he can just fine tune certain things which aint hard
Dont need waves mate. Just want existing fights! Parker yes up and coming and hes only 26! Cant wait to see how well he performs next year.
