very true but sometimes things are hard to pass up due to probability

BJS last fight had an over under of 4.5. The same BJS who can’t crack an egg. Went 12. Over was -210. Total robbery if you bet on it.

They clearly do some sparring behind the scenes, but not against established names on the circuit.

You wont see Yarde going round to other gyms and taking pictures with other Pros with captions saying “great 8 rounds today with so and so”

It’s just not there way and I have to respect Tunde for doing something different, if this is what he believe’s in and clearly Yarde has bought into it.

I remember in the lead up to Hatton fighting Mayweather, how dismissive Ricky was about the same “tappy pads” that Floyd used to do.

After the fight and seeing first hand what it was all about, to Ricky’s credit he went to Floyd Snr at the first opportunity and tried to better himself and learn the skills.

The point I am trying to make is that there is still a lot of dismissiveness amongst the other trainers (many of whom will more then likely be watching nervously on Saturday hoping that Yarde loses) and on the forums about Tunde’s methods.

But if Ricky Hatton of all people was open to new ideas, other then just wailing on a bag and getting smashed up in heavy spars, I don’t know why it’s hard for others.

The proof will be in the pudding on Saturday.

Do you know that they definitely do sparring mate? Tunde says it’s only him.

I get the not wanting to have wars in sparring thing, it’s not for every trainer. If I remember right, Dom Ingle doesn’t believe in full blown sparring wars. If you’re informed that they do in fact have competitive spars with various albeit relatively unknown fighters then i’ll pipe down :)

One of the boxing clubs I joined there was a light heavyweight there who thought he was the bees knees, walked around the place like he owned it and every week would do all this flashy pad work with one of the trainers, I always thought it was a load of show off rubbish, months later a guy was invited to the gym to spar mr flashy, I heard this bloke had had trials at team gb up in Sheffield, anyway team gb guy walked through mr flashy in 2 rounds and that was the end of it

I think Yarde has this coming to him

I teach boxing to kids at our local gym. What I know is that some kids in our gym look fantastic, even in sparring. Once you take them out of their comfort zone it's a different matter. The first bar I put up in a kids development is to see how he spars when we go to another gym.
When he's not in his comfort zone and he's going somewhere he's unfamiliar with, that is their first big test. Ive seen some kids that ive trained, and are really good in our gym, unravel simply because of the pressure of fighting in the other kids comfort zone, where the home kids has his friends all around him in the gym.
There are many other tests along the way. Another one that sticks out is if a kid is going up against someone who has had a lot of fights and has a repatation already, that can have a massive effect on some of them. What I'm getting at is, there's many tests along the way, many questions that are going to be asked. Yarde just doesn't seem to of had enough questions answered for me yet.
I watched the tunde/ bunce interview earlier, he just seems to talk a lot of noodles does tunde. He answers questions with sound bytes. It's hard to get a sensible answer out of the man.

I agree im not sure if this holds any weight but i found it alarming. Somebody i know has been in and around the camp for a while. Granted they are not really into boxing but he said if they win, from what he has seen they have made it look effortless. He has even told me that yarde eats a lot of bad foods like fried chicken and things along that line.

The word effortless really should be associated with a boxing camp should it?

Apparently it took him 9 years to create that system. Leonardo took 13 years to get Mona Lisa'a eyebrows right, so if Yarde pulls it off then Tunde is officially better than Da VInci.

A camp in preperation for a world title fight is anything but effortless.
If someone who isn't really Into boxing or doesn't know the ins and outs of championship fighting has privy to a fighter getting ready for his first world title fight and he describes the preparation as "effortless" then there is something seriously amiss in that fighters preparation and camp.

Watched a bit of their pad work and it doesn't seem easy work. Tunde also giving Anthony a fair few clouts with the hand pads. Then I watched AJ pad training with Mcracken pre the Ruiz fight and in comparison that looked soft and much more one paced.

Was the geezer an amateur, or pro or just a gym fighter? Of course you have to have some talent, this goes without saying.

I think we can all agree, that this is probably one of the most intriguing fights involving a Brit in recent years.

Whatever happens, let’s all make sure that we are logged on after the fight to be involved in what should be a brilliant debate.

Maybe he loses 8-4 and fights well. Comes out with some credit to build on.
