Anyone with speed would have given the older fatter Geoge plenty of problems.

Poetry taking far too many shots, it was just an exciting brawl with the bigger man winning, Holy used far more footwork in the rematch which Bowe had a problem with even a lower level boxer like Hide was giving Bowe problems with his quick feet and he ws no Ali at all.

Wlad is in my top ten ATGs and deservedly so. His accomplishments speak for themselves. If you don't like a fighter, that's more than perfectly cool. But from an objective standpoint....

He did take too many shots, and the great majority of the fight was a slugfest.

But watch his use of the jab in that fight, to me that's poetry.

I'm one of those people whom believe Holyfield never beat Bowe, the second fight was closer but I still had Bowe ahead by two points. I had him ahead five in the first fight.

Hide came when Bowe was on the (ridiculously early) decline. And he still ended up sticking his foot up his ass (in a BIG way).

Yes, in the first round Ali landed several rear hand jabs that Foreman has stated 'he can still feel today!' but then the heat made Ali decide to counter tucked up on the ropes, he looked quicker in that 1st round than he did in his first fight v Frazier, he was sharp as hell and countered George to death in the following rounds often, despite taking some hard, hard shots, great fighter.

Sometimes I wonder if Ali's being capable of taking so much punishment had more to do with his greatness than most might like to credit.

I mean, certainly his Zaire strategy was great, but that in itself meant he was going to take some horrible shots (and I don't mean just to the body, I think everyone remembers that one uppercut that nearly took his head off. I think that was the same one that knocked Joe silly...twice).

I’ve already posted Johnson vs Moran news articles that state Johnson beat Moran easily. The VAST majority of newspaper accounts state Johnson beat Moran easily. Why continue to lie?

Johnson won every round vs Ketchel. It was no contest. Gunboat Smith and insider and an eye witnessed stated in an interview in 1969 that the knockdown was faked. Who are you to say he was wrong? What evidence do you have that contradicts this testimony?

Of course there is a comparison . Go watch the guy before claiming something so ludicrous .

    By Bobby Frankin

Joe Bugner is rarely mentioned when talk turns to the heavyweights of the 1970s, but he should not be forgotten. He had a stand up European style and possessed a very decent left jab. He could put together combinations when he wanted to. He ended his career with a very respectable record of 69 wins (41 by knockout), 13 losses, and 1 draw. He was only stopped on four occasions.

Klitschko was was an upright euro with a limited jab and grab style.

What separated the two is Bugner fought arguably the best jabber of all time and at times matched him with the jab. Ali who was still extremely fast got his head snapped by Bugners jab and right cross on occasion.

Wlad would never get his jab anywhere near that Ali's head. He couldn't hit Haye with a hurtful jab over 12 rounds and his jab was reduced to a complete non-factor against Fury.

Bugner also had very good success against Frazier with his jab. Another top 10 ATG HW. Who TF did Wlad ever fight to prove he was better at jabbing all time great HWs????
