Krusher has been a very good champion but well past his best now. Yarde could come again but looks like he should have a more realistic path towards a World Title attempt - very few can go from bashing puddings to beating elite fighters
I think the good efforts comments probably come from the fact people discovered Yarde is fairly tough rather than the boxing display Before the fight we knew nothing
I think it was meant as, he wasn't totally overwhelmed and although he didn't win rounds he wasn't totally out of his depth and showed he wanted to give it a go.
Going into rounds you’ve never been into against arguably the best in the division is insanity mate, I honestly think Yarde has the ability to be world level but the way he’s been handheld is ridiculous. Hopefully he will learn from this and come again
I thought apart from the 8th round, Yarde was schooled by an old man. It was a very good effort in the 8th round when he went for broke and he just found the old man had true grit. Learned more in that fight than his career to date.
That’s it mate I think people including myself quite impressed with his toughness and willingness to keep going forward taking some heavy shots
God, some ppl can be so negative and salty Given the experience Yarde has, the conditions etc, its was a monumental effort Give the guy a break
I thought it was a very good effort, certainly hurting Kovalev in there. But my expectations for this were quite low to begin with. I expected what we saw in the later rounds from round 2 on. Yarde can take a lot of punishment, and so he can be dangerous against almost everybody at the weight. He was smart to avoid Beterbiev though, because that would have been an onslaught.
Sergey Kovalev to Anthony Yarde: “You’re a great fighter. You have a great future, believe me. You’re good, you’re really good.”
