Just ask Andre Ward. Look at how Kov won his last two fights when people thought he was FINISHED. I heard from experts that Kov. was nothing but a puncher and not a thinker. Well, he proved everyone wrong and boy has his jab looked amazing in the 2nd half of his career. He has boxed beautifully since being brutally knocked out two times in a row. And you have to respect that. No one is doing more with the jab in the game of boxing than Sergey Kovalev right now.
Loma`s jab is constant and he draws punches better than Kov with his jab, but the power in that jab that dropped Yarde was amazing.
People thought he was finished, and that's because he is finished. Yarde had nothing left after like 3 rounds and Kovalev couldn't get rid of him. Yes, part of that is Yarde's better than expected chin..but most of it comes down to the fact that Kovalev is way past his best now. He is like mouldy bread.

Yeah...that was a great punch. Kov. looked more multi-dimensional in this fight even though he did get hurt. He wasn't just throwing straight lines shots and mixed up his punches better than he did a little bit in the 2nd Alvarez fight. But, can't fault him for being more cautious against Alvarez. He did some really nice work in there tonight.
No one is doing more with the jab under the circumstances than Kovalev. Look at how he won his last two fights when people wrote him off.
