Alexander Povetkin vs Hughie Fury - Predictions

This should really be main event

 

I cant see past the skirt running for the hills. Allowing Povetkin to swing at him, allowing Povetkin to drain his batteries down for the first 4 rounds.

It then becomes a very dull fight from rounds 5-12. With Hughie moving away and Povetkin following him around the ring in an increasingly tired way, getting picked off by a pitter patter feather powered jab.

Hughie gets the win via UD. Turns more fans off the sport in the process, due to such a negative style.

We have to hear more casuals talk about how he is only 24 and will improve,and can be a world champion one day.

 

But how many 50/50 fights can the top guys actually deliver is a fair question given they're a long way ahead of the rest.

Also Hughie may have been in two fifty fifty fights but they weren't very good and he lost both.

 

Really hope Hughie puts on a performance, I doubt it, think he will win and not look good doing it.

 

A fight I just don't see Fury winning, unless by controversial decision. Fury simply does not throw enough to win rounds and he doesn't have the power to keep Povetkin away. Should be a wide UD for Povetkin if he has anything left.

 

I've gone fury pts but I reckon there's a good chance he might get the stoppage in the last cple rds.
Fury is a good defensive fighter and Peter will know to drag pov into the last half of the fight as pov is now well past his glory days and at 41, trying to keep up with a young man in his 20s is going to be a big struggle.

Hughie on points. Unless he boxes like a prime Roy Jones jnr he's never going to please everyone but he'll do what he has to do.

 

D'pends on the ref and judges of course given its a Hearn show but if neutral (lol), Pov on points.

Hughie is a confirmed fan of wearing Asics while fighting, and would rather reek the joint out than risk a tear up. And we know Al' can bang.
If we're assuming that effective aggression and punches landed with spite count, it has to be the Russian by decision.

Hopefully Sasha does boxing fans a favour and KOs Fury, so we can avoid more Fury fights on the big stage. Hughie should be a cabaret fighter in blackpool or something.

 

I have a feeling Povetkin has slipped enough that Fury may fiddle his way around for a UD.
