I'm surprised anyone here actually thought he beat Fury. Even Holy was completely blown away by the verdict.

Imo Wilder is the undisputed champion of the world today...though I admit to ignorance regarding the top contender of the day (damn me for forgetting his name).

Don't bother. The second I see a general put down Ezzard Charles they'll be meeting a whole new fury

    Get it, Fury? BWA!

Sorry, I'm a total cornball being silly.

    George Foreman thought Wilder won.

Wilder threw more punches in 11 of the 12 rounds. And Wilder scored two knockdowns. No heavyweight champion has ever lost his title in a fight where he scored two or more knockdowns and wasn't knocked down himself.

It's perfectly fine if people thought Wilder won. He successfully defended his title.

Evander Holyfield, who was "blown away" by the verdict, received a draw against Lennox Lewis in their title fight. And Holyfield didn't floor Lewis TWICE during the fight.

That was the joke I was making Rules...

Nah but to compare Wilder to Marciano is as ridiculous as comparing Stiverne to Ezzard Charles

Who do you think is the best heavyweight in America, exactly? Wilder can't beat himself.

I'm so sorry, I boo-booed. I meant I'm shocked anyone though Fury won. So stupid of me. And Holy also thought Wilder won, rightfully so.

I had Deontay ahead three points in the Fury fight, all three times I watched it.

I'd be shocked to hear anyone say Fury won that fight convincingly...

Wilder struggles at infighting like Marciano struggled with fighting on the outside.

One guy was a dwarf with the shortest arms of any heavyweight champ. The other is a giant with one of the longest reaches in heavyweight history.

You can count the number of 6'9" 260-pound switch-hitting heavyweight champions Rocky fought on none of his stubby fingers.

Yeah, maybe Wilder should fight the light heavyweight champ Kovalev next.

Would he be relevant? Marciano, Louis, Charles, Holmes, Dempsey, Ali, Frazier ... all fought the light heavy champ. Wilder isn't any heavier than most of them were.

Or would you rip him for that, too?

Deontay Wilder is a fine heavyweight champion.

Him fighting against Usyk would be better than any win he has so far, so I kind of agree that he could fight lower weightclass champion.

    Marciano beat:

    Roland LaStarza
    Rex Layne
    Joe Louis
    Harry Matthews
    Jersey Joe Walcott
    Ezzard Charles
    Archie Moore

all arguably better than Wilder's best win.

    Louis beat:

    Primo Carnera
    Max Baer
    Paulino Uzcudun
    Jack Sharkey
    Bob Pastor
    Jim Braddock
    Tommy Farr
    Max Schmeling
    Arturo Godoy
    Buddy Baer
    Billy Conn
    Lou Nova
    Jersey Joe Walcott

all arguably better than Wilder's best win.

    Charles beat:

    Joe Louis
    Jersey Joe Walcott
    Rex Layne
    Jimmy Bivins
    Joey Maxim
    Elmer Ray

all arguably better than Wilder's best win.

    Holmes beat:

    Earnie Shavers
    Ken Norton
    Trevor Berbick
    Gerry Cooney
    Tim Whitespoon
    Carl Williams
    Ray Mercer

all arguably better than Wilder's best win.

    Dempsey beat:

    Gunboat Smith
    Bill Brennan
    Billy Miske
    Fred Fulton
    Jess Willard
    Tommy Gibbons
    Jack Sharkey

all arguably better than Wilder's best win.

    Ali beat:

    Doug Jones
    Sonny Liston
    Floyd Patterson
    Ernie Terrell
    Zora Folley
    Jerry Quarrey
    Oscar Bonavena
    Joe Frazier
    Jimmy Ellis
    Buster Mathis
    Mac Foster
    Ken Norton
    George Foreman
    Ron Lyle
    Earnie Shavers

all arguably better than Wilder's best win.

    Frazier beat:

    Oscar Bonavena
    Eddie Machen
    Buster Mathis
    Jerry Quarry
    Jimmy Ellis

all arguably better than Wilder's best win.

    Wlider's best wins are:

    Luis Ortiz
    Bermane Stiverne
    Gerald Washington
    Dominic Breazale or Artur Szpilka

The last two aren't even worth mentioning. I didn't mention better fighters than Washington in others resumes.

Wilder fought against Marlon Hayes, 5'9 middleweight who didn't fight 5 years before Wilder fight. The fight lasted 4 rounds and the KO was questioned. Why would he be ashamed of fighting the best of the LHW or CW divisions if he fought nobody from MW?

    You totally ignored Kovalev.

I think you're right. I think Wilder should just fight champions from now on. Fight Kovalev. Fight Beterbiev. Fight Gvozdyk. Fight Briedis. Fight Bivol. Fight Dorticos. Fight Andy Ruiz. Fight Fury.

That's what "the greats" everyone loved did.

Except, if Wilder started demolishing light heavys and cruiserweights, everyone's heads would explode.
