I'm intrigued. When you say already beaten Fury are you referring to McDermott? And you don't mention that Fury has beat Wilder?
If Joshua puts less on his punches in his attempt to "box" Ruiz in the rematch it could backfire. Ruiz will slip and counter to his body, and when a weakened Joshua can't keep Andy at arms length any longer, he will go upstairs for the kill.
I meant Tyson Fury, who I don't rate high at all, really. Imo Wilder beat Fury. Convincingly, and nothing will change that. I've had Wilder ahead three points each time I've watched that fight. Wilder was robbed, and is (until he meets Ruiz) the heavyweight champ of the world. Just me, no offense to fans of the other champs.
Luck!?!? Ruiz made AJ pay for making a mistake. Capitalizing off an opponents mistake isn't luck, it's skill.
The "luck" narrative that has arisen of late is a joke. Joshua was struggling in the first two rounds, then after catching Ruiz with a great hook never again was able to hurt him despite landing some good shots. I think Joshua can win if he spoils the fight with his reach, but it's easier said than done. He can't simply snap his fingers and "do it like Lennox & Wladimir." But I also remain suspicious of Ruiz as champion: He is destined to lose very soon, whether to AJ or someone else.
Andy Ruiz has no respect for Joshua He has the better Stamina & Skills Joshua only hope is to go for an Early KO & hope he can catch Ruiz with something bigger than last time. The longer the fights goes, the less chances Joshua has...
I don’t agree. I think Ruiz had the skill set to hurt AJ at other points in the fight as well, not just when AJ happened to leave himself vulnerable when on the attack. The speed of ruiz’s Combinations bothered him, he was also being backed up early in the fight, he will be put under pressure again, will have to open up at some point and Ruiz has the counter attacks. Ruiz is the more natural fighter, AJ got into boxing later and it shows, he is more programmed. I guess it’s possible he could use his size attributes and keep it on the outside but I think it’s a long shot. He found a bad style matchup in Ruiz. The only reason I think AJ might win is if Ruiz comes in badly out of shape and the money took away all his desire, very possible.
Put down the crack pipe, the only person that saw Wilder winning the fight was the judge that scored it for him
It's not luck when you knock the guy down 4 times. Joshua was unable to box from the outside, he tried and Ruiz still caught him.
Watch for Joshua to come into the fight juiced to the gills. He'd get caught doing that in the US. Saudis Arabia? Maybe not. Joshua without the roids must rely on his boxing skills. We saw how that went against Ruiz. Joshua with the roids is a different fighter, able to overpower opponents despite his less than perfect skillset. If Joshua comes into the fight with muscles bulging from his ear lobes, it will be pretty clear.
Purely my opinion.. he did recover from that punch in the 3rd.. the 4th 5th and 6th he boxed the same as he did before round 3. Just when Ruiz turned the heat up he couldn’t go with him
Ruiz was not lucky, Joshua is simply not as good as some people believe. Ruiz is decent, but he is not in the same mold as Wilder and Fury and neither is Joshua. In february the best heavyweight will be crowned between Wilder and Fury, that's the reality of things, before the Joshua fight Ruiz was a nobody just like Schwartz and Wallin.
Oh look, a Fury fanboy. Anybody who knew boxing knew that Ruiz was a top ten level talent before he fought Joshua.
we are talking about a strap/piece of the heavy weight championship of the world. Luck would be if some untrained, out of shape slob entered a lottery and got a chance to compete for the belt.....and won. that is luck. The best definition of luck...as it relates to things of this nature...and life...preparation meets opportunity. Ruiz knew what to do..had the chance to do it....and did it.
