People like to throw around names like Pryor and Benitez as ATG's.

    Great thread.
Not that many that I can think of.
I wouldn't put GGG or Kov on the list at all. But at this point neither would I put Canelo.
Crawford is close but not there yet.

    ATGs aren't common.

Pacman beat geniunely elite HOF or ATG boxers, lost a few, had a few questionable decisions especially against JMM in his favor. Canelo lost to an over the hill GGG twice, lost to Lara who aint exactly p4p fighter, arguably lost to Trout, lost to May though he was very young then, his best wins are over past prime boxers like Cotto

GGG is ducking the Charlo sisters, 1 just got beat and the other is fighting top 20 type fighters outside of Korobov who beat him but was robbed.

i respect your opinion however his record says different. people argued floyd lost more than once.

just to add i may have misinterpreted the OP, i'd suspect as along as canelo keeps winning he will be classed as an ATG.

Nietes and Ioka as well! I think when those two square down again the winner will be a generational great as well. Easy.

If PAC is the measuring bar for ATG then nobody else.

This. Pacquiao an 8 division champ. Who beatdown Barrera and Cotto in their prime. If that is the minimum qualification for ATG then Pac is the only ATG since Roy Jones.

By my official standards. Yes. Official. I officially call someone an ATG when they make my top 10 in a division or top 100 pfp.
So only 2. Gonzalez and Usyk.

Canelo, GGG, Kovalev, Lomachenko and Inoue are well on their way to the Hall or Fame.

Tbh my system is very flawed because someone like Jack Dempsey and Rocky Marciano should be considered ATGs but neither fit my criteria. So take it with a grain of salt

not at all and close are not mutually exclusive.

I believe he thinks Crawford is not at all an ATG, same as GGG and Kov, but is close.

He has not commented as to whether Kov or GGG are close.

    GGG got beat twice.
Canelo beat GGG but he still has found his epic performance yet. Ala Hopkins/Trinidad

Everyone that gets in the ring with Crawford gets swallowed up while for Crawford its a walk in the part.
He beats Spence or another top tier fighters the same way. Hes there.
