Actually Lewis ended up with a championship-level left once he got with Steward. Watch him rock people with that hook...it happens on manifold occasions.

What's the difference? Not many in other combat sports hit as hard as him.

I have him among the biggest punchers ever. I thought this was more or less consensus opinion, but maybe I'm wrong.

Then say in the history of all combat sports not in all of human history. There's being countless billions that have lived on this earth in all of human history and to imply that none or not many could hit as hard as Lewis on the simple basis that he was a professional boxer is ridiculous.

??? Who said other boxers had more power than he did while he was active. The list would be short. Lewis didn't always commit to his punches, but he's got one of the hardest right hands I ever saw.

For me hes within the prime five HWs but for many Marciano, Louis, Dempsey besides Shavers, Foreman, Tyson, Liston and Tua hit harder than Lewis.

I think his power is rated pretty fairly overall. Most seem to recognize he was a very big puncher and was very dangerous when on the attack. Not a man to get careless with.

It will always be up for debate who's the hardest hitter, but you could easily say he's in top 10 or even top 5, especially his right hand if not both hands. He might not throw as many or as hard as Mike (especially prime Tyson), but if you bring his size and weight into equation, then he hit almost as hard if not equal.

However, there's an interview with Mccall which he was asked to name some of hardest hitters he ever faced, and he said Cooper, Tyson (only in sparring) and even Douglas hit harder than Lennox... but I Lennox power has never been underrated, he's always ranked among HW hardest hitters.

I put Lewis above Marciano, Louis, and Dempsey in terms of punching power (even relative to their respective sizes).

In fact, I put LL's right hand only after guys like Foreman and Shavers for punching power in the heavyweights.

I thought Tua's power was overrated, he always struck me as a minor leaguer even in that dept. He got puncher's lucky breaks during a couple of decent-matched fights. As a fighter overall I put Herbie freeking Hide above him, easily.
