What are the incorrect facts? I was a bit unsure of posting because the heading said MMA forum but I thought I would see if there was an interest in “other” combat sports.
To beat Muay Thai one must win at the premier stadiums in Thailand under full rules. You post a bunch of modified rules bouts. To beat Muay Thai you should use your own coaches. Chinese team hired Thai's after the first encounters. Research. To beat Muay Thai using the bad Sanda scoring criteria fair judging and equipment should be used. Chinese insisted on full gloves, pads and limited grappling.
I was more worried I’d fudged one of the details in the video. Your criticism would make sense if my video title was “When Sanda Fighters Beat Muay Thai Fighters At Muay Thai”. Except that wasn’t the title. Muay Thai fighters will Beat Sanda fighters at Muay Thai. Sanda fighters will Beat Muay Thai fighters at Sanda. The hybrid rules are an interesting mix in my view. It tends to go both ways. There was also a bunch of Muay Thai vs Karate bouts in the 80’s under modified rules. They weren’t anywhere near as competitive as this.
Sounds like a smart move to me. How does that in any way render the victory illegitimate? So should Pacquiao’s victory over De La Hoya be declared a no contest because Roach trained De La Hoya first and had inside knowledge? I’ve never heard anyone impartial say that.
