Tom Sharkey fights Tyson instead of Larry Holmes.....how does this fight go? How tough is it for Tyson?

I want to say this would be a fun fight but honestly Sailor Tom is just too out classed here. Sharkey is tough enough to last a few rounds against Tyson's overwhelming power and swarming, but ultimately it's 1 sided, with Tyson stopping him rounds 3-5.

I should point out that I'm a fan of Tom Sharkey as well. I think someone like, say, Trevor Berbick would be more his speed. Now THAT would be a good slugfest

Edit: a better thread would've been Sharkey vs a '96 or hell, even a '91 Tyson.

Murder on the dance floor! Sharkey wide open ,easy to hit 5'8" 187lbs. Stopped twice by Fitz.
Tyson would destroy him.Speed, power from both hands, full on intense pressure .No contest.

I think Tyson gets a quick stoppage, just too powerfull and clinical a finisher.

Sharkey could be hurt, Jeffries hurt him numerous times, he just had insane recovery.

He didn't recover very well after Fitz hit him!

Either tyson breaks the barrel chested brawler down and stops him in 5-6 rounds in a gorey explosive bout, or the ref/corner saves sharkey from himself. Either way, people get their money's worth and Tyson cant help but praise the brave bruiser afterwards.

    In reality twice...
No shame in that, you need more than granite chin to sustain Fitz attacks.

It'd be a painful beating for Tom. He'd be brave enough to keep getting up but by the time Tyson s finished, he'd be a wreck!
