What are you smoking mate Vasily Lomackenko has never even had a PPV in USA and you think Callum Smith would be ?
Are you saying that a 1m guarantee plus PPV upside for a BJS fight is derisory...really? How in the world is Hearn gong to treble the value of the fight, other than in matchroom fantasy land. Saunders is unreliable, unlikeable, has no fan base. Technically brilliant as we know, but extremley boring and arguably on the way down judging by his last fight. Hearn throwing him on a DAZN card in America against a Suleki type is not going to aid in building a Smith fight in my opinion. The reality is that Warren’s offer is very good and Hearn is not prepared to match it. Eddie has all but confirmed that this week, by saying that he’s not making the fight yet as it’s a “risk” .
I wouldn't be surprised if its BJS fights someone solid but not spectacular in Chudinov or Braehmer looking at the WBO rankings. Then after Smith deals with Ryder they can make the BJS vs Smith fight in the Spring as Hearns said he plans to do if Smith signs.
No, of course I haven’t - have you? The fact is, Hearn himself never came out and tried to say that there was any unreasonable terms - he just dismissed the money on the table as being “poor” which is laughable. Despite the offer supposedly being low, he declined to make a counter offer and just came out with rubbish about the fight having more potential value down the line. Obviously, he probably caught wind from MTK that Saunders would probably be forced to leave ( I don’t think Billy wanted to leave Warren personally) as Frank couldn’t land him a major fight and clearly didn’t want to keep paying him top dollar and losing money for bum WBO fights. So Eddie decided to wait it out and signed Saunders - ok good chess moves, but what’s happening next? Instead of getting down to business and not messing about and pulling the trigger on Smith - Saunders which I called for, he’s talking about sending Saunders to fight on some obscure DAZN card and Smith (although he’s definitely blagging it IMO) is making noise about leaving for another promoter. If he’s not careful, I can see Hearn, just like Warren has been for years, being lumbered with an unreliable, hard to promote Saunders who wants big money for average fights.
Oh dear oh dear, this is delusional stuff from Joe Gallagher. He wants Callum Smith to be on Sky PPV regardless of his opponent, where as Eddie and Adam Smith say that Callum should only be on PPV against the right opponent which Joe disagrees with. Joe also complains that GGG and Canelo earn more than Callum when Callum is No.1 in the division This has nothing to do with "wanting the big fights", Joe and Callum want a fat check.
Interesting interview. Yes, that was a lot of delusional stuff from Joe. Callum Smith is not in the same universe profile wise as Gervonta Davis etc as he tried to reference. However, in reality, there is zero chance that they are leaving Eddie as they have nowhere else to go. Eddie knows this, but will play the game with them. Fast Eddie will just stroke Callum’s ego and will probably overpay them for a Ryder fight or similar for later this year and agree a guaranteed PPV for next May. One good thing from the interview, is that Joe blew up Hearn’s nonsense about Callum getting “nearly the same money to fight N’dam” as he said to try to downplay Warren’s offer to make the Saunders fight on BT. Everybody with half a brain knew it was total, utter rubbish , but we had the Tony Hayers’ and co jumping on it...Joe even said that they took a pay cut to fight on Joshua’s card...you really couldn’t make it up.
BJS has signed a contract to fight him in the Spring which is bound to be PPV. All of his highest earning potential opponents are with Matrlchoom or DAZN in BJS, Bivol, Canelo, Jacobs, GGG and Canelo. It makes no sense to leave.
