This. Very rarely see opinions so widely split on how close a fight was. I thought it was very strange the way people completely wrote him off too. I knew he was underdog but gave him good chance. It seemed like it was 99 percent Loma to 1 percent Campbell which I thought was extreme.
If you listen to the UK commentary, you would think Campbell was in the fight. Every tiny punch landed, a meal was made Loma won easily and handily Look all country's commentators are bias, it's part of the game
It wasn't close. Campbell stole a few early rounds while Loma was figuring him out but that was it. Good effort from Campbell but I had it 117-110 and a lot of others seemed to have it around the same.
I didn’t listen to the commentary. Rounds won by loma we’re close. Campbell get plenty of good shots off that kept him honest. Loma just had that little extra and showed great heart by always getting the last shot in. Campbell would be a world champ if it was anyone else. I think he did better than yarde.
It wasn't an easy nights work for Loma, Campbell pushed him more than anyone else has since Salido fouled his way to a joke decision. Throw in that this is the best version of Loma that we've seen and Campbell deserves credit for making it competitive.
You are watching a different fight with the commentary muted - the commentators simply continue with the pre fight PPV hype to reel in the mugths then spout their biased garbage to justify the poking delivered to mugths. The result was never in doubt for me.
In no way was this a close fight. Campbell did very well to hear the final bell, that doesn’t mean it was close in fact it means the opposite. No shame though Loma is possibly the best ever Campbell is unlucky to be at the same weight
Thing is though. This countries commentary was biased towards Lomachenko. Several people on here mentioned it. So I don’t get your point with this fight.
It was a close fight in the sense that a lot of the rounds were close, and Loma was having to work very hard to win them. Loma winning 10-2 is about right on the cards but you actually have to watch the fight to see the whole story. We're also used to seeing Loma obliterate his opponents which didn't happen, so that may play into peoples' perceptions.
