I don’t think comparing the greatness of morales to loma is in any sort of way a fail.

Ok, we both know when loma is retired in 3-4 years with a record of like 21-3 morales will always be held in higher regard

    Loma no.114

Let’s see if he can finish above 30

Is he a killer puncher at 135lbs? Of course not. To say, however, that he "lacks power" is an absurd overstatement. He has dropped and hurt every opponent he has faced at lightweight, a weight we all agree is above his ideal weight class.

I'm curious as to why you feel he's a "sitting duck" for a pressure fighter?

I think it depends on the kind of pressure an opponent brings. If it's jab centric, educated pressure from a rangy fighter, then I agree. If it's mindless, bull-in-a China shop pressure, I think he'll adjust as he did in the final third of the fight against Salido.

Folks cite the Salido fight frequently, yet often forget to mention that Lomachenko swept the final 2-3 rounds and had Salido all but out on his feet in the final round.

Match Lomachenko with Berchelt at 130lbs and watch him turn and batter that kid to a late stoppage or UD.

Good point. The style of pressure matters.

What is Jason Sosa if not an above average pressure fighter of the "bull in a china shop" mold that Loma handled easily? Nobody's mistaking him for Duran, but he should have wins over Fortuna and Gamboa.

And not only that, Sosa is a really hard puncher too and with both hands.

He stopped a whole bunch of fighters who'd never been stopped before or since

Javier Fortuna who has fought Easter (was robbed), Granados, Bogere, Omar Douglas and a load more good and decent fighters with impressive records

Haskell Rhodes who has fought Lipinets, Cherry, Omar Douglas, Bryan Vasquez

Jerry Belmontes who has lost 10 times and has fought the likes of Andrew Cancio, Miguel Vasquez, Franciso Vargas, Omar Figueroa Jr, Richard Abril, Diery Jean, , Eric Hunter, Abner Cotto etc.

    Santiago Bustos - 9 losses
    Michael Brooks
    Bryne Green - 10 losses
    Joseph Perez
    Isaac Suarez

He can really crack and is hella game and tough and he was on a 16-0-1 (14 KOs) streak going into the Loma fight albeit the draw against Walters should really have been a loss. That being said, he still pushed Walters hard the whole way and every round was fiercely contested and competitive.

The fact that Loma was able to make a tough, game as hell quality fighter like Sosa quit and make him look like he was nothing in the process is seriously impressive. Ditto goes for the equally game and tough and hard punching Marriaga who fought tooth and nail against the 10lbs heavier Walters and took the undefeated Oscar Valdez to hell and back only losing a razor-close decision.

And he made another beast in Walters quit who was not only undefeated and a two-fisted power puncher with very heavy hands but was also actually a pretty slick boxer.

Then Loma made Rigo quit, an elite of the elite fighter who came up through the Cuban amateur system for goodness sake fighting over 400 times and had seen virtually every style there is to see, except that is for Loma's which he was totally bamboozled by and had zero answers for.
