Loma looks great technically and everything but Naoya Inoue is a force of nature. In three weight divisions now every one he has hit has gone down like a pile of stones. Loma is in his third weight class and he is starting to show some signs of vulnerability while Naoya seems to be going from strength to strength.

Inoue looks more spectacular because of his spectacular power.

I'm glad that someone as well respected & as knowledgable as you has finally dropped some truth bombs on this guy Lomachenko that no one cares about..

The only fight night weight of the 118 pounder version of Inoue that I'm aware of is 131lbs

So he rehydrated 13lbs in his third weight class and the fourth from the one he started out at

Loma who campaigns at 135 ie. 5 divisions North of bantam weighed 138 against Linares and Pedraza

The most Loma has rehydrated in his entire career is 12.5lbs and that was down at 126 ie. his first weight class.

The most he rehydrated in his second was 9lbs but it was 7lbs in all or all but one of his other fights at that weight, IIRC, possibly two.

And the most he's rehydrated in his third that I'm aware of is 3 or 4lbs but it could be ever so slightly more now.

Nah ,Loma fought the better opposition. Not impressed with Inoue level of opponents. If he beats someone like Rigo or Russell Jr. Then it will raise and an eye lid.

But guys he is beating, meh! Not bad but certainly not elite.

Record versus former, then present, or future titlists...

    Lomachenko: 8-1

    Inoue: 7-0

Between them they have faced the #1 in the division three times. Hernandez and Narvaez were ranked #1 at 108 and 115, respectively, entering those fights with Inoue. Linares was ranked #1 at 135 when Lomachenko fought him.

    It's difficult to compare them.

Inoue is textbook perfect. Inoue throws ALL of his picture perfect punches with speed and brutal concussive force. His punch selection is mesmerizing and as good as JMM's.

Lomachenko is otherworldly athletic and very flashy. Lomachenko relies on illusion and deception and that has become less effective with age/opponent level.

Both are special, but as of right now, I'm more excited about Inoue fights than Lomachenko fights.

I agree entirely, if I sat down and thought about my p4p rankings Loma would be somewhere between 3-7, I see a few current guys who are superior including inoue, Crawford and Spence.

That was the only impressive opponent Inuoe has beaten Senior Narvaez. Which is still not comparable to Rigo, Russ jr and Linares and Campbell. Not by any stretch of the imagination. It's simple its easy to look good against B class opponents that have no power and pose little threat in the ring.

I’m a big Loma fan, and he’s my favorite current fighter. But I do think some people definitely overrate him somewhat. Some people need to realize that you can still be a Loma fan without thinking he’s the greatest boxer of all time or even the top P4P fighter right now.

I think what he did to the quality fighters of Hernandez (top LFW at the time), Narvaez (top3 champ at SFW), McDonnell (top3 champ at BW) and Rodriguez (top3 champ at BW) justifies his top5 P4P status: it was a devastating display of power and talent.

However, even if I don't think Loma is all that, so far he has the better resume and he's more into a P4P#1 battle with Crawford, with Usyk also having a say. Much will depend on Inoue's performance vs. Donaire, by far the most accomplished opponent of any of these fighters I've named, Rigo or Linares, Huck or Gassiev and Gamboa or Khan don't compare. So it's an opportunity in P4P sweepstakes, but it can also be utterly disastrous depending on the outcome.

    Because Inoue is more special.
Loma is disgracefully over rated. Once he finally steps in with any of the 3 (only A level fighters around him) elite level fighters around him he'll lose bad.

    Tank
    Lopez
    Inoue catch weight

All make him look weak and all beat him bad.
Not a coincidence that his father won't mention their names until now when he has to fight a legit fight that's top tier talent which he can't say he'd ever done
