Yeah when you really think about it that fat Mexican shouldn't have the authority to rule the fight a no contest straight away. What were the BBBoC doing??

Edwards should be thankful he got hit with that late shot because the fight was over. He was done.

Why was that fat Mexican able to rule it a NC??? Surely that’s the referees choice ???

This isn't right , of course they have a leg to stand on, they setted the bet incorrectly so should correct it ie reverse the withdrawal.

Even their rules state 'In the event of a 'no contest' being declared, all bets will be made void, with the exception of selections where the outcome has already been unequivocally determined'.

For the record I had a fair chunk on the fight not going the distance , but after the announcement of a no contest I knew 100% the incorrect settlement would be reversed, I work in the industry though so knew this all along.

You can withdraw PP winnings immediately from ATM's if he had a PP Cash Card, so technically could have got his money straight away but his account would still stand at -£230, then he could've kept the money and not bet with them anymore if he was that way inclined.

One way or another you cannot reward a guy that clobbered his floored opponent! A Mexican victory could never be allowed to stand. Edward's benefits from an incredibly stupid mistake by the Mexican. It's the Mexican's own fault. He snatched defeat from the jaws of victory. Of course he would beat Edwards (again) in a rematch. , Cream him. Absolutely murder him. Edward's knows this and will duck out of a rematch for that reason.

You stated they can reverse it on a NC but this wasnt what was announced, they settled the bet on a Martinez win which was the official verdict, until the WBC president stepped into the ring and made his statement.

It doesn't matter if he does that a day or two weeks later. They settled the bet based on the original result of the referees decision, who is the officiating individual of the bout.

It should be challenged, unless they have a specific rule like Betfair do on the timeframe for settling bets.

The second he went down I turned to my girlfriend and said that's it, over. Then Martinez landed that final **** and I paused, he rolled and she said "no way can that punch have done that to him, he's trying to get him disqualified". I made her right and so it proved, it was disgraceful of Edwards to act like that in such a sport, I don't think he was getting up ready to continue even before the cheeky shot, he just saw a way out.

I usually always back British fighters but the kid seems to be a bit of a d**khead, last night he was and I just don't think he should have ever been a World Champion because he's never done enough to deserve a shot. I firmly believe that both Andrew Selby and Jay Harris would beat Edwards comfortably, he's just another Matchroom hype job.

I don’t understand why it wasn’t a dq, like RJJ back in the day?

I thought the way Edwards paraded around the ring with his arms aloft and a big cheesy grin on his face was absolute cringe.

It was an illegal shot, can't argue with that - but he was getting splattered.

There needs to be a rematch.

It surely could have. Jones' DQ was evn more blatant, with a right hook followed by a left hook on the chin when Griffin was already clearly down, and there was no way they could let that stand of course.

Edwards knows he was beaten and dramatized the last shot to try get a disqualification. He managed to hold onto his belt but deep down knows what happened. Doubt he'll go near the rematch.

Watching it back loads of times in real time, it wasn't actually that bad from Martinez, and I'm not being biased, Edwards was taking a knee and he was caught a split second after his knee touched the canvas. The celebration and subsequent waffle from Edwards was godawful, I hope he moves up weight, gets flattened and becomes an Instagram PT.

What are you on, he has fully loaded up on a left hook while Edwards was face down on a knee? I couldn’t care for either fighter really but it was absolutely the right decision and could have been a DQ, similar to RJJ.

Illegal blow, definite DQ. That blow knocked the wind out of Edwards sails. He was in trouble beforehand though. Hes a lucky boy

Not only that but he uploaded a picture of him with his arms in the air with a smile on his face on his IG after. He seems to have zero self-awareness.
