I've given him a pass on the Salido fight, supposedly I'm a hater but I'm not one of them saying Salido is his daddy etc, he gets a free one there from me.

My other criticisms of him I think are plenty fair but he has rabid fanboys who won't hear a word of criticism without foaming at the mouth.

Thanks. Your position seems fair and reasonable to me.

I think it was the way he beat Rigo that was surprising. Rigo was very well thought of at the time. Before the fight Loma said Rigo was too small. Many thought Rigos power, talent a d boxing pedigree would expose Loma but it was not competitive. He could not deal with the angles and unorthodox style of Loma.

I think I'm being generous giving him a pass since he'd had about 9000 amateur fights I don't know how much more ready he needed to be but I'm trying to be balanced.

From my short time actually posting here, I've noticed that Lomachenko seems to be a massively polarizing figure on this forum. Do I rate him highly? Yeah, but he's not exactly ATG material yet, due to a lack of true quality opposition. I just don't understand how some people clearly disregard his skill set.

Because careful with those last couple of words brother.

The thing I have with him is the ever diminishing standards.

Before this guy turned over I heard his fans saying he was going to be the GOAT he was gonna win a title his debut, he was gonna be undefeated, he would never lose a round, they were saying In his first pro fight he would beat the 135 version of floyd, they said nobody below 154 could beat him etc etc.

All these ridiculous claims then I see him fight Luke Campbell who is well no offence but he's not a great fighter by any means, and he's struggling and getting rocked and looking vulnerable, and they are still claiming this guy is some special ATG.

There's such low standards for this guy it's unreal.

Tbh I agree with all this but I'm not so polite about it because I feel the need to balance out his hysterical fans

I get every fighter has their fans and haters, but with Lomachenko it seems that there is no middle ground between the two.

So if they caught again, you see Salido beating him?

The comment about he looked like a deer in the headlights is a good statement. I agree in the beginning of the fight he did. Like many good amateurs, he came into the fight thinking pro boxing was a sport. He finished that fight understanding the pro game is not quite a pure sport.

There is no way he loses to Salido again. They could fight in Saildo's Tio's basement with Salido's Tia's as judges and he diesnt lose that fight.

The fight was a great educational experience for him. Learning what the pro game can be about.
