The Poirier that leathered Holloway will win this fight if he can keep it standing. Beeb is hell-and-jesus for the first 2-3, then he starts to fade
Poirier really put a clinic on Holloway who has been superb these last few years himself. I would say a 2019 Poirier is a better fighter than a 2018 Conor so therefore imo this is Khabib's hardest fight to date. I still think Khabib probably wins a decision but Poirier will make it a dog fight at certain stages.
Yeah I'd say so. Conor obviously presents a daunting knock out threat, but Dustin had great boxing, uses knees and elbows well, and had deadly, opportunistic BJJ. In a weird way, Dustin is kind of like a 1b version of Tony Ferguson: a guy with great submissions & boxing, good use of elbows & knees, good but not spectacular wrestling, and awesome cardio. It's not an exact comparison, but how Khabib does against Dustin will be a bit of a technical preview of a Khabib vs. Tony fight.
Dustin throws combo`s where as Conor just threw single shots and that was easy for Khabib to defend during the stand up moments.
I seriously think Conor and some of his fights have been staged like his fight with Floyd? His fight with Mate looks ridiculous at times, with Nate dropping to the floor off every punch lol. I love MMA but those made up stars like Brock Lesner and Conor bug me. I like Khabib and Poirier so I'm not not bothered who wins.
That's a good point. I can't say I favor Dustin to win, but I'm stoked to see what happens. I think if Khabib beats him convincingly, that will be a huge feather in his cap.
Looking forward to what should be an outstanding fight,I hope i'm a wrong but I think Khabib will probably get the win as I have always felt TFerg would be the 1 with the best chance at finally beating him. Poirier is such a quality person tho that's in his prime and who has been for a while now fighting at a consistently high level and beating good opposition ,he definitely has the ability and tools to neutralize and take Khabib into deep waters he has never been or needed to go so far. As brief a time as it was,I still feel that a prime motivated Conor was a better fighter then Poirier but outside his striking Conor never really matched up that well or posed any problems for Khabib, despite Mcgregor having his moments and being the 1st fighter to win a round off of him got taken down at will and thoroughly dominated. Khabib has so far proven himself to be a special fighter and future ATG with a relentless dominant style and ever improving striking game that nobody has come close to figuring out or stopping, although I feel he has mainly beaten up mediocre level opposition throughout the majority of his career and needs to win fight like this and against other top fighters in there prime like TFerg to help secure his legacy.
Khabib just maul everyone into the ground. With Khabib it's not some black belt jujitsu type thing but something entirely unique to him, most probably from being made to wrestle with bears from a youngster. Highlight of his fight with McGregor was him standing with him and dropping him to the floor lol. Maybe that's Dustins best chance if Khabib decides to trade, other than that has Dustin got any mad submission skills?I remember Fedor in his prime, getting submitted by an arm or a choke or something?
Conor has already beat max, already beat poirier, had great fights with the bigger Diaz out of his weight, ko of the year against aldo, ect ect. Hes earned his stripes, imo. I guess I dont see why you think hes a made up star.
