Wilder says to Fury to step aside cause he wanna fight the winner of AJ-RUIZ II

Hasnt Usyk already been mandatory by the WBO for the winner of Ruiz vs Joshua? So if they did want to fight wilder they'd have to drop a belt anyway so it wouldnt be undisputed?
Also i thought the IBF wanted pulev to be mandatory for the winner after they agreed to let the rematch take place?

Either way Wilder messed up not taking the fight last summer for the undisputed,, it'll take another year now for the mandatory situation to get cleared up

 

I think one of belts is gonna be dropped either way, the chance at undisputed is gone.

 

Two possibilities come to mind. Either Wilder is just talking to keep this fight in people's minds whilst he fights washed up Ortiz and Fury does the rounds of second rate padded record fighters or, more interestingly, the Ruiz result has changed everything.

There's a lot of money on the table, maybe less than before but still a lot and whatever the result in Saudi I don't think the money men will want to spin this out because there's now been two 'dead cert' fights where the alleged number one has slipped up. Fury was only denied a decision by home cooking and AJ has proven to be as fallible as many predicted after Wlad knocked him down.

If Ruiz wins I think he'll be made a great offer by Showtime. If AJ regains his belts then maybe DAZN and Showtime will each bid for the unification and they'll look to get it on next year.

If that's the case then the Fury fight is a risk that Wilder may not want to take. He's already been outboxed once, does he roll the dice a second time and risk Fury being the one to bank the big check from a Ruiz/Joshua fight?

 

However, people can do that on adrenaline. After adrenaline wore off he is fighting weak feather fisted fighters instead of too contenders.

 

It will never happen but a H.W. tournament would be awesome with AJ, Wilder, Fury, Usyk, etc. No ducking, no BS, just fights among all of the top guys.

I favor Ruiz in the upcoming fight but it would not surprise me to see AJ pull it off, especially in Saudi Arabia. Usyk is still unproven at HW and his next fight will still leave lots of unanswered questions, even if he wins. Fury -Ruiz would be an interesting matchup.

Nearly all of these fights are 50-50 IMO so they should be big. Hope they happen. Knowing boxing, most will never happen and fans will just argue about who would have won.

 

You can go to America cap in hand talking up the 'amazing' opportunity you've been given and still get robbed blind because your passport is the wrong colour.

 

You know, most people have Fury winning that fight, myself included.
But remind me who was it that said no to the rematch and fought Schwarz instead?

If that is true then what, don't fight?
If that is your stance, then what is the issue with Wilder wanting to fight AJ/Ruiz winner instead?

 

Same goes for the UK , Germany, Mexico, etc.

 

I don't think anywhere else has the gall to pretend that they're the place you 'need' to go to 'prove' yourself before ****ing you over.

 

that was because the money was always here. now that boxing has fallen off a cliff popularity wise, more and more the epicenter of boxing will move to another country. no one here cares anymore.

 

Has the popularity fallen off a cliff due to the - relative of course - lack of success in recent years compared with previous generations or do you attribute the above to the lack of popularity?

 

In all this great nuthouse I sense a overthrow for Wilder and Ruiz. The titles could go to the UK between December and February.
