Ruiz vs Joshua II : 1st face off

A bad night at heavyweight as history has shown,ends up with the champ knocked out.
Obviously the rematch will show us the truth.I'm of the opinion that Joshua did have a bad night and can't fair any worse.
I reckon he will look to start slow and pace himself and if he wins he's suddenly back up there.
Still think if the top four all fight each other,they will all have a loss at some point.

 

What if Ruiz turns into a Crow, AJ comes out for round one made of Lego or Eddie Hearn eats Rob McCracken? You'd be surprised don't pretend otherwise.

Joshua has to box carefully at range and wait for ruiz to tire then maybe turn up the heat

In a close quarters fight or one with Joshua being the aggressor he gets clocked again

Ruiz doesn't tire. AJ did fight at range. Do you guys think that fighting as an outboxer means the opponent cannot counter?

 

fighting when you are seeing red and angry can just be as bad as fighting complacent and not taking your opponent seriously like AJ did the first fight.... if he's gonna get angry and lose his composure in the ring, Ruiz will KO him even faster.

 

I think AJ tired quickly also because he was shocked that Ruiz was matching and even stronger than him in clinches, pushing his head in all sorts of ways, man handling him, quick to the the punch after clinch and Joshua couldn’t get away fast enough getting clipped time and again

If AJ gets beaten again in the rematch then he'll become a grade B fighter. He needs to win the rematch.

 

I thought Joshua won the rounds he played range 1,2, and 4 and there were spots where Joshua would move and circle and Ruiz would follow and allow him out. I think the battle in the third wore him down a lot and if he can avoid getting sucked in he can win

I favor Ruiz and do feel he was lining Joshua up well the entire time in rd 1-2 before hitting big in rd 3.

 

I dunno, but I wasn't giving AJ those rounds because he was getting pushed back. He'll have to back up the whole fight, basically run if he plays the outboxer. He's much slower and cannot handle Ruiz's speed.

Also, you should look at Ruiz's stats. He's built for 12 rounds. And whenever it goes 12, he usually gets the UD except the one time he was robbed of his zero.

 

It’s a tall order since Joshua really hasn’t had to do it in other fights he cane forward vs Wlad and Parker

Another big issue Joshua had was predictability. He never seemed to follow up with a shot if he missed the first one

I think ruiz figured out if he could slip a shot there wasn’t a second one coming so he knew he was safe to throw without consequence

I don’t think Joshua wins unless he boxes on the outside and hopes to wear ruiz out or land a bomb and get the job done. He’s not winning inside

 

And Ruiz is not going to tire so that doesn't leave him many options. Again, Ruiz is very well versed against taller and longer fighters as he's shorter then just about everybody else. Also, being taller and longer doesn't help against fighters that know how to fight vs that style. Take Pac for instance, you can't jab him, he will counter you every time.
