Massacre by AJ So when AJ wins what will you say then? Or will it be operation backpeddle deny alpha 1?
I don't give one solitary **** what is or isn't bothering AJ or rattling around in his empty head, and sorry to burst your I've literally never had that thought go through my head. And quite frankly, it disturbs me that you'd read that much into that throwaway comment, that's some low ass reading comprehension right there. Read closer, its pretty apparent I'm not sweating what AJ is bringing to the Ruiz rematch in the least. That being said, it does seem like you're doing a combination of mental calisthenics to convince yourself of what you're attemping to project onto me.
The first loss wasn't a fluke moron. Process that before getting all cocky for the rematch, it's not when, it's if, and that's a mighty big mother****ing if.
People trying to say AJ got out boxed and beat up are forgetting that the first knock down was by a somewhat lucky punch by a thatguy who looked like he himself was about to get knocked out!! Ruiz swung wildly and hit Joshua on the temple and really scrambled his senses! He did well not to go down from that shot, let alone get up and continue fighting for a few more rounds! Plus it's the reason he did go down again, he never recovered from that first, behind the ear punch! Up until that punch he was in control and had already had Ruiz on his ass!! Look forward to the rematch, hopefully Ruiz will get himself in better shape by then and Joshua shows he's able to adapt to fighting a guy of his style. It will be a great fight if so!
I see this the same. I'm leaning towards Ruiz to win again because of the manner of the first victory, however I'll caveat that saying that AJ has all the tools to win and fought a stupid fight first time by leaning his weight over his front foot, lead hand low and hunching. Basically giving away all of his natural advantages and he did the same vs Povetkin but managed to get away with it as Sasha doesn't throw as freely. It's Joshua's fight to lose in my opinion, as he has every conceivable advantage. Ruiz is slow of foot, doesn't cut the ring off well and fights in spurts, all things which can be taken advantage of. I'd not be shocked to see even a 1 sided fight if Joshua fights on the outside and is patient... but my gut just tells me he wont or cannot do this, as he only seems to fight tall against bigger guys.
@CST80 was that meant to read that's 'a mighty big motherf*****g tit' when looking at Ruiz's new summer bod!?
You sound like you didn't watch the AJ-Parker fight. It was a total farce, the ref didn't let Parker do any inside work whatsoever.
Where did I say a goddamn thing about Lewis-Rahman on this thread? I didn't. So don't bring it up to me. Hey, I predicted down to the letter (and round) how the first would play out, and yes if you haven't read it, I'll quote it for you. If you're betting on this being a fluke, you're deluding yourself.
I'd like to see Ruiz secure that W, but I feel Joshua will have made enough adjustments and fight cautious enough to take back his titles.
I agree in the sense that the ref was garbage and broke them up anytime they got close, but I actually think that favoured Parker, because I've not seen anything from him to suggest he can fight on the inside.
I watched it one time and that was all I needed to see. I said Parker was a gatekeeper long before he was the gatekeeper he is today. Just like I am saying that Ruiz is a one hit wonder just like he will be after December the 7th. And the "inside work" you speak of was the same thing Ward tried to do with Kovalev in their first fight. Real inside work is when a guy goes to the head and body, not when someone with short arms tries to hit while holding. The ref had nothing to do with Parker refusing to engage the entire fight and retreating faster than a Trump fan when you ask them a direct question.
