Anyone can lose a fight on any given day.

    Great ones, against underdogs.

Simple as. At the end of the day, History will see it as a fluke should AJ win the rematch, it will be another Lewis Rahman repeat.

And nothing you can do will change that perspective. So calm down, fight is in December.

Try reading it before criticizing and attempting to invalidate it. It isn't an AJ hit piece, merely an explanation, as stated in the thread title.

Yup, American debut to edge one step closer to an undisputed fight and a place in boxing history forever (note how he continually talks about his legacy as his motivation)....but he didn't actually care. Right, i'm not buying that.

It's not strictly "adjustments" he needs to make though is it. The "adjustments" he needs to make can't be achieved in this short space of time, it takes years of developing the subtle skills. That's why Ruiz, has been boxing since he was like 8, has them

Idiots who haven't a clue what they're talking about will see it as a fluke, that's about it.

Yes a 1 punch KO out of nowhere after being miles behind is very comparable to a systematic beatdown :risas3:

Yeah the same Wilder was running around ducking for years, how was an American debut going to edge him one step closer...??? Don't be silly.

AJ was not on form mentally and already spoken at depth about why, you would make the world crappiest therapist

"thank you AJ for sharing how you felt, now I am going to tell you what I think you felt, and we'll see who is right. thanks"

Obviously AJ can't make drastic changes to his style hence the word "adjustment" what does adjustment mean?:

"a small alteration or movement made to achieve a desired fit, appearance, or result."

Hence I used the word adjustment, as it can be done in the space of 6 months.

AJ already said he won't change his team, trainer, camp, strategy, just a few tweaks. I'd personally have AJ hopping around more, stick and jab, pepper AJ use his reach like against Parker... then hit Ruiz with uppercuts and move to the right whenever Ruiz slips through... and just wait till Ruiz is ready to be taken out.

Oh and Ruiz boxing since 8 yeah? Subtle skills built over decades yeah? Funny... because I could have sworn I saw a fat man throwing wild overhand rights while jumping off one leg??? Sorry... I didn't know it took decades to create that symphony....

I am sure I can find another fat man to replicate that style. Maybe it's the way he throw everything wildly... like method to the madness? Mhmm.... jesus.

People casually forget that Ruiz was a last minute replacement for PED Monster Miller.

Completely different styles and opponents... AJ was training to fight a 320 pound slow plodding clubber, instead got a 265 pound fat man who moves like speedy gonzales.

He only met Ruiz the week of the fight....

Let's casually brush this significant piece of information under the carpet... and carry on with the "Ruiz always had AJ's number" narrative.

    Wake up call come December.

I'm not going over the Wilder/AJ both ducking each other again. it's been done ad nauseam. I didn't say the American debut would move it closer, but it more than likely would actually. Thanks for imaging that argument up for me.

A therapist? what on earth are you on about? you really are odd. But if those bull**** excuses he rolled out were true (that by the way, is one of many, which is very telling) one of Breazeale, Takam or Molina would've beaten him. So that's that ridiculous argument disproved.

You can go on OED and get definitions all you want, but it's not adjustments he needs to make. It's skills he needs to gain.

You'd have AJ hopping around? You're hilarious hahahaha.

If that's ACTUALLY what you saw, i suggest you delete your account and never utter a word about boxing again, because that was pathetic and so far off base it is scary. Do you have a fetish for making yourself look stupid and opening yourself up for ridicule? because for you to show every day that you don't have the faintest idea about the sport is very strange.

AJ doesnt have crisis reflexes that boxers used to get from starting boxing as kids. Thats a serious issue when fighting at top level, and it probably why his top three wins are -

    1. Parker, middling champ
    2. 42 year old who got smashed out plenty when prime
    3. Charles Fraudley Martin

Stiff Jab, CST80, rski and 1 other person like this.

Like I said, you'd make a crappy therapist, because you can't accept someone elses account of their own feelings or emotions leading upto an event. AJ spoke... accept it... he has no reason to lie... give the benefit of the doubt and rejoin the human race.

    Muhammed Ali hopped. Hop definition:

(of a person) move by jumping on one foot.
    "he hopped along beside her"
synonyms: jump, bound, spring, bounce, skip, jig, trip, flit, leap, prance, caper, dance, frolic, gambol

Besides, AJ was hopping around uncharacteristically for the first 3 rounds, so he can do it. Want to see video evidence? Let me call my friend Dr YouTube.

I think your problem today is that your language skills have failed you. Try communicating by sign language, and save us all the headache of reading.

You'll get triggered by reality come December the 7th...I don't need to lift a finger.

Good breakdown. I'll be interested in seeing how AJ's camp prepares him for the rematch. On paper, he should be able to adjust and be much more competitive in the rematch. The question is whether the battering Ruiz gave him has made him fearful of pulling the trigger.
