Yep. Too much of a bodybuilder. Definitely think it impacts his ability to recover when hurt as well as gain a second wind. Honestly he should drop to 230-235.

For me he cant cause his power would decrease too much and Ruiz would win easily.

Parker is not powerful and easily won against Ruiz.

If he would lose too mass, he should change his boxing style. Hes a puncher.

Ward was going up to heavyweight to fight Joshua, but then retired because boxing isn't the only thing in his life. He's also working on a career as a boxing pundit, which means he has limited time to train for HW fights.

This. I’ve been saying this for years, since Joshua had much better mobility and handspeed when he was around 230-235.

The only problem is Joshua seems too attached to his image and carrying all the size that he does.

If he loses too mass, he has to change his boxing style. Hes a puncher. Wilder is also a puncher but he has a different body structure (arms, legs, shoulders) so he can stay dryer than AJ.

This. The key to beating Ruiz isn’t power, but making him move around and use his legs up.

When I used to see Ruiz spar he absorbed and easily recovered from extremely hard shots that Arreola and Darnell Wilson were hitting him flush with, but was sucking wind against Sakio Bika, who just kept moving around the ring and tagging Ruiz until Ruiz’s legs started locking up and then he started lighting Ruiz up.

Parker also benefitted from having sparred Ruiz in the past and Barry being Ruiz’s head trainer in the past. Barry knew how durable Ruiz was and made Parker use movement, which got him the win.

Darnell Wilson hit Ruiz hard enough to make him face plant with headgear on and Ruiz still got up like nothing happened and kept sparring.

He has minimal fat on him, how the eff is he supposed to drop weight easily, without causing problems?

Stupid people don't think about stuff like this, you can't get rid of muscle easily, without it affecting your performance.

He doesn't need to try to reduce his weight, what he should do is reduce the amount of resistance training he obviously does, and increase his sparring and cardio. Keep the food the same.

Trying to "lose muscle" is foolish, if he does what I said above he will gradually lose a bit of muscle but not that much tbh as due to muscle memory he will maintain most of it with a couple of quick weight sessions a week.

But increasing his cardio is the most important and I'm an advocate of loads and loads of sparring for that. You can do all the running in the world but you put a marathon runner in the ring he will gas in 1 round. Sparring sparring sparring. 100s of rounds of it.
