I thought Whyte-Rivas was the pinnacle of the pudding insanity but no this is a topper for sure. Fury may as well come out for his ring walk in a striped sweater, eye mask, flat cap and a big bag slung over his shoulder with a dollar sign on it and as he walks to the ring in the mugs throw £20 notes into the bag while Fury jigs and gyrates to some terrible music. He'll probably exude more energy doing that and singing a post fight song than he will bashing up this Wallin nobody.
Wallin is Undefeated, he's sparred some of the best, he's an unknown quantity, he's got a UD over Zumbano Love on his record, deadliest man in the division, just like Charles Martin was.
I can't take any Heavyweight that couldn't blast Zumbano Love out of there seriously. If he couldn't knock him out he's never going to KO Fury, which means he's going to have to try and outpoint a far superior boxer. Pointless fight, that's my point.
It's on the Mexican holiday and it has Navarrette / Pedraza / Zepeda on the undercard so maybe the gate is good Obviously no one in Britain buys it on PPV
Fury has absolutely smashed it getting over 10 million for these type of fights. Not great for the fans though, hopefully Wallin is decent.
I genuinely didn’t realise this fight was on Saturday til I listened to IFL earlier, surely this absolutely bombs on PPV? Fury is a genius getting millions for a fight like this, fair play to him on that side of things.
Not gonna lie....this should not be PPV. Boxers and promoters have others and at times themselves study forums like these to estimate what kind of numbers a fight will draw. A bit disappointed in Tyson, give something back to the fans and people around you who helped you at your lowest and make it free. Then more people will be willing to part with their cash for your wilder rematch. My two cents @fwank and b.ob
It’s making a mockery of Vegas fights aswell. Normally only the best top quality fights go to Vegas and esp places like the mgm grand and the t mobile but this is damaging the he rep of the place. It should be on broadway
Still not sure how much Fury is getting to be honest. Don’t forget, Arum himself called the figures ‘bullsh*t’ when Fury signed with him. It’s also pretty clear the PPV’s are bombing and the fights aren’t selling well. We’ll find out at some point when the likes of Forbes publish their finances. I may be completely wrong of course but it just doesn’t seem logical that a guy like Arum will pay a fortune to guy who appears to sell so little. Look at boxers who were paid lots, (Mayweather, Canelo, Joshua, Tyson, Pacquiao) and the common link is they shifted a lot of sales.
I agree . Whether people rate fury or not he is by far the most popular heavyweight out there hence fighting at the T-Mobile in Vegas against a virtual unknown outside the boxing world
