is calzaghe hated by alot of boxing fans because he has no power?

    His power is underrated. How come he is NEVER on the backfoot.. He is ALWAYS controlling the ring and pressing forward.

    If he had a substantial lack of power, wouldn't his opponents just walk right through him?

    None have, they all back the **** up.

    Why exactly does he need power ? Hes got alot of other tremendous qualities as a fighter.

    many factors and certainly being american doesn't have anything to do with it.

    racial? calzaghe has beaten 2 noted black fighters hopkins and lacy. Perhaps...

    Nah, the lack of an American passport really hinders him on here. Pavlik is some godlike figure, and Calzaghe is constantly derided. Figure it out.

    His punches are ugly with no pop.

    IMO he is not as confident in himself as his record would show.He seems to only take the big fights when the public turns on him for not taking them.

    Maybe its because he's a bit overhyped by Euro fans? Listen, I think Joe is a good fighter but to hear that he's an ATG and the best fighter out there today P4P makes me sick. Even IF he beats Jones, he will still only go down as a good fighter IMO. A good fighter that was never tested because he didnt fight the best.

    And no, I dont hate the guy but i'm sick of how he gets hyped.

    I don't think people have a problem with him not knocking people out. It's the fact that his "punches" are illegal but he never even gets warned.

    Yeah, in 20 years it will be one of those things where someone goes to boxrec and starts naming off people off of Calzaghes resume, and they will be corrected for it. I'd probably have to point out how much B-Hop was ducked before they fought, and how he still made Calzaghe look bad.
