Really? I thought you'd go with Canelo on this one. I like Canelo by decision. I just dont see Kov being able to get the ko. This isnt the Krusher we all remember. Should be a fun watch though.

    Good fight.

Best fight he can make atm as it's a bigger challenge then Smith and Gvodyk is already tied up with the Beterbiev fight.

Plus Kovalev finally gets his pay day.

Nah, not even close, and I'll write a thread fully explaining why.

He'll be fine, this is still 2 months away, and the fight was 2 weeks ago at this point. Aside from the 8th, he barely took any damage. He's still in good shape from that one, and he'll pick up right where he left off. It might be preferable, this way Kovalev won't be tempted to do anything untoward by his downtime.

I don't know, I'm just not as hyped on this as some people are. I've more interest in Canelo fighting at 160, there are good fights for him there or even at 168.

Kovalev being #1 LHW is very debatable. He is 1-1 with Alvarez and almost lost to Yarde.

But he has a big size advantage

I sure hope he will be fine and in top shape, but unfortunately that's not how the body works. Sports science showed time and time again it is only possible to peak 3 to 4 times a year with enough rest in between. Also had that fight happened in the US he would have been rightfully suspended from sparring and fighting for a couple of month. He took more punches against Yarde than against anyone else, that will have an effect on him.

Also it is kind of naive to think Golden Boy will allow a fight on an even playing field. I fall for that time and time again and I think fighters have to think that way to be competitive at all against those guys. But history tells us differently, just look at the recent "rematches". I'm still rooting hard for Kovalev and also think he can still be fit enough to win (on an even playing field...).

We'll see.But even if it isn't on the up and up, I still don't think it'll be a walk in the park.

Canelo is a 1/5 favourite ... to put that into perspective, they're giving grandpa Ortiz a better chance to upset Wilder than Kovalev.

Canelo will have his hands full for sure early on, but if he can deal with the size without buckling too much, I think he adjusts and starts pounding that body, and landing sharp counters on a tired Kovalev. I can see a late round stoppage for Canelo here, and ESB having a hate storm right after!

as the fight gets closer that gap will most likely close considerably. This is a dangerous fight for Canelo, no doubt!
