I thought Wallin beat Granat with ease myself, I must have seen the fight differently. And no, I'm not trying to talk up Wallin as a decent opponent, I just don't get how people are saying that he struggled with Granat when he didn't.

It's not that much of a shock that Fury has taken this route. His career features two top drawer opponents, loads of bang average fighters, and little in between. Bearing in mind he's been a pro for over a decade and it's more than eight years since the first Chisora fight, it seems unusual that in the Pulev/Povetkin/Ortiz/Parker/Haye/Whyte/Chagaev/Stiverne/Ruiz category he's essentially fought nobody. Indeed, for four years it's either elite or total bums.

Logic behind Wallin? Very low risk, very high disproportionate financial reward

Er not buying the first part of that Deontay signed to fight him in a rematch and he went to fight Schwartz and Wallin instead.

The second part is the truth.

I'm not too bothered about these bum fights really. I'm assuming he's Wilder's next fight after Ortiz so if it means he takes these fights just to stay sharp then whatever really. Sure as Hell shouldn't be PPV, not in a million years mind.

Boxrec is not an official ranking system.

Seferi - who knows, maybe top 100.

Planeta - unsure. Prob top 50.

Wilder - wbc champ, should have won.

Schwarz- wbo no.2, ibf no.7, undefeated, never dropped and fury done him in 2 rounds.

    Wallin - undefeated. WBA no.4.

    Wilder rematch - WBC champ.

So in his comeback after his 3 year lay off, he’s fought a champ twice, two undefeated top 10s, and two former world championship contenders.

I’m not sure he does have a guaranteed shot at Wilder. My understanding is that Wilders fight with ortiz has been pushed back to closer to the Ruiz fight.

As if Ruiz wins Haymon is making that Wilder vs Ruiz fight next.

Fury and Wilder have agreed a deal in principle but no contracts have been signed

Terrible interview with Fury by Umar, not for the first time. Umar always seems a bit overawed by Fury, never asks him proper questions and never digs deeper to follow up his answers.

    Well....they were.

I don’t do the rankings. Why don’t you write to them?

No one believes in the legitimacy of the Governing bodys rankings. So I don't see why your using them to try and validate that the low level opposition that Fury has been fighting are worthy opponent for somone of the reputation of Fury.

Do you honestly believe the likes of Spong, Fa, Schwarz, Washington, Wallin, Bryan, Price, Oquendo and Fujimoto are top 15 fighters or even close to being one?

Ratings in orgs are how you get title shots. Whether they are correct or not you need to be rated minimum top 15 in an org.

    Simple really
