Agreed. His defence hasn't progressed since he fought some ex kickboxer and was rocked by him. He being hurt is becoming a worringly regular occurence and someone less forgiving is going to knock him out if he doesnt iron out his defensive flaws. Kiwi fighters just dont like moving their head do they... its baffling and is probably a testament to the lack of coaching quality.
Big coup if they can get Loma to come out. I'll pay big $ to watch that live. Might pay to put young Tszyu on the undercard. Thought Uncle Bob might have a bad taste in his mouth about Australia after Horn-Pac.
He got rocked by that Fijian southpaw as well before he fought Lance Bryant, and yep, you've hit the nail on the head with Kiwi fighters and their inability to move their heads. Mikhailovich is stiff up top, Bowyn Morgan also has a very limited defence, Fa backs up in straight lines and Hemi Ahio is vitually a bigger version of Morgan both offensively and defensively. The only NZ boxer with any sort of decent defence is Parker despite the criticism he cops. His defence against Takam and Ruiz was top notch which got him wins and also against AJ despite the ref ruining that contest.
Parker still eats a few punches up close and mid range. He rides them well though, good harm minimization when he can see them coming. I think it's more his mindset and slightly passive style. He has one of the best chins in boxing but kind of fights like he doesn't think so.
Nz has such a tiny boxing talent pool that you rarely get the full package. Nyika is one that has both the physical and intelligence side to his game. A rare find in nz. Many in nz have the physical attributes unfortunately not the boxing knowledge or boxing iq, save parker to some degree and nyika.
Mikailovich has shown nothing apart from knocking out kick boxers, and Ud'ing past it kiwi journeyman. Until he fights a top 5 aussie middleweight then we'll know what he's got, and in my opinion that probably isn't much.
I just took a look at the draw for the 2019 World Amateur Championships. I think Justis Huni has drawn really well. He needs three wins to get to the semi-finals & win a medal but the seeded guys in his part of the draw both look beatable to me. He wins his first fight against the Colombian 4th seed & the draw opens up for him. The two top seeds in the division are from Kazakhstan & Uzbekistan which goes to show how tough Olympic qualification will be through the Asia & Oceania qualifying tournament. The Kiwi David Nyika has a good draw in the H/W division also. He has a bye in the first round & then fights an unseeded Austrian in the second round. He also needs to win three to get to the medals. Anyone good enough to win a medal in this tournament is good enough to win one at the Olympics.
Yeah i'm not sure if anything changed last few days but I had heard that the Tommy Browne was a decent chance of being Tszyu next fight
Bob gonna have to pay Loma to get him to risk his belts down here, word has it that George is in mma training as we speak.

* Cbus Stadium can hold 27000 but Mundine vs Parr will having seating capacity for 12000. Will be reconfigured if demand for more seats. * Lets hope if Justin Hodges is on the undercard the rest of the card is better. Hodges brings shame to ex NRL players in the ring. Benny Harrington at the All Star Boxing Academy trains him and also Justis Huni and would be my choice if the Hornet changes trainers. AF shared the podium with Goodall at the 2017 AIBA World Champ. AF is aged 36 and 6'3 and is now 2 -0 2 ko. Like Sakio Bika and Christian Tsoye showed the Cameron fighters might not be technically correct but they come to fight .
12k for mundine vs parr? lol who on earth would waste their money seeing that? parr is one tough dude who would be hard for a mack truck to knock over but surely he just gets beat up round after round in this fight. why r all the bigmouths in here not slamming this fight for going ahead? all the troll horn haters gave jeff a gobfull for picking on poor old mundine yet when mundine chooses to beat up a old man who hasn't had a boxing match for more than 16 years they turn a blind eye? you r all hypocrites.
