The World Championships kick-off today, with England again taking a strong team to a major tournament. Only one England boxer in action today in Mark Dickinson, 3rd on in the afternoon session (11:30 our time) Michael Nevin is also boxing today for Ireland, 4th on in the morning session. Sean Lazzerini is boxing for Scotland at 12 our time. This will mostly cover the ENG boxers, but feel free to comment for other home nations. It looks like all ENG boxers, barring Dickinson & Luke McCormack have byes in the prelims All matches will be shown on AIBAs official YouTube account: This content is protected Tournament Schedule: https://d152tffy3gbaeg.cloudfront.net/2019/09/Competition-schedule-2.pdf Today's schedule: https://d152tffy3gbaeg.cloudfront.net/2019/09/C58D0909.pdf

Sorry for being pedantic, but it’s the GB Squad rather than individual home nations at the tournament.
No they’re not. They’re away as a GB Squad, each boxer boxing under the GB banner with GBR vests. Only place you’ll see the home nation referred to is from GB Boxing. Boxing Scotland or England don’t have individual squads over.
Sorry, just saw the draw with Lazzerini marked as SCO. Confused as I saw he’s away with Team GB. Apologies.

Na keep them coming mate, only reason I’ve logged on today haha. Who do you think the medal hopefuls are from the home nations? Our biggest talents seem to be Peter McGrail and the McCormack’s, but I’m not sure of the competition they’ll face in their categories. Hopefully big Scott Forrest and Aqeel Ahmed do well for Scotland.
For us (ENG), I'd say Yafai, McGrail, P. McCormack and F. Clarke, despite Clarke's less than stellar showing at the Euros. It's tough though with the rest of the field, the Cubans have such a strong team there, 7 boxers in 8 of the divisions, all ranked No.1, hard to see past them, especially La Cruz at light-heavy. Would say Khyzhniak (UKR) was nailed on for gold at Middleweight, but i can't seem to find him in the draw. Also Nyika (NZ) looks class at heavyweight, but hard to see past Levit (KAZ) in that division
