I think it's Haye. Coldwell is usually Dave Coldwell. Chisora has always used the name David to refer to Haye.

And it ends up leading to Haye v Chisora II on PPV.

My problem with it is that a main event should be a fight people really care about - realistically what happens to the winner of Parker / Chisora? They maybe get an eliminator fight? Neither will win world honours so its just a good level international fight.

Taylor vs Prograis means something, is between two better fighters and there's a good chance it'll be the better fight.

Also, whilst Chisora v Parker is a great fight on paper - is it actually going to be a barnstormer? Parker's only fun fight was vs Whyte, who is always in an action fight, and Chisora blows hot and cold. Him vs Gashi was a joke. Parker will likely try and box and move to a boring points decision - even if Chisora catches him, will he stop him? Doubtful.

 

Quick question, if Eddie Hearn believed Chisora vs Parker would do serious numbers, he would put it as it's own headliner on PPV.

 

You really believe that the Taylor fight would do as well if it wasn't for Chisora vs Parker? NO CHANCE.

 

I didn't say that, of course this will attract a casual audience to the card but it isn't a headliner on ppv in itself. If it was Hearn would have made it as a headliner on PPV.

I’m talking in terms of PPV. Not taking away any of their achievements- but as Chis pointed out, they’re far from being established names in boxing - certainly, no one outside hardcore boxing fans will know of them - I think Taylor has had 15 professional fights. Shouldn’t be PPV - the likes of Froch / Fury, built up their reputation on mainstream tv - taking the casuals with them.
IMO, this fight is not PPV ready. Instead, the rise of PPV has taken boxing away from both casuals and hardcore fans - in fact, despite being a boxing fan for 30+ years, I have to now label myself as a casual - there’s no way I can afford to pay £200+ a year on PPV (use to be 1 or 2 a year). Fans are being rinsed big time.

 

If Eddie believed this fight would do huge numbers, he would make it a standalone event?
