    Marvin Johnson victories:
Pretty much shot but once great Victor Galindez
Johnny and Eddie Davis, both pretty good
Mate Parlov, future Cruiser Champ from whom Johnson took the WBC175 pound belt.
    Green Prince Charles Williams
Leslie Stewart who would eventually stop the past it Johnson in his last bout
I like Johnson's resume better than Tarver's lol

Tarver never really lost to Glen Johnson. I watched it from press row and nobody had him losing, but he didn't train well and can blame himself for letting it be close enough to lose. He won the rematch easily. Harding broke his ribs and jaw. He showed heart to finish that fight.

He also showed his level by sweeping Harding, Roy Jones, and Glen Johnson in the rematches. Show me another fighter who pulled that off against fighters of that caliber. Caliber meaning consensus opinions at the time and not your personal opinion which is based on belittling every fighter of an era to suit your feelngs.

So that's what it is. You can **** on everyone he fought and pretend Glen Johnson or whomever couldn't fight. But the fact remains that you're offended because I said a more accomplished fighter than Marvin Johnson would be a modest favorite over him.

You're an idiot in that case.
    Williams was 12-3-2.
Stewart was average and beat Marvin.
That unknown guy also beat Marvin in his prime.
Marvin got stopped in the three times he stepped up and never beat a Roy Jones.

It's two good but not great wins, another couple decent ones (Davis's), and some well known loses.

No you're the idiot because I had already written that Williams was green, you dope. Stewart was good enough to win a strap and he beat a done Johnson in Marvin's last fight, you dope. Marvin was stopped by GREAT fighters in Saad, EMM and Spinks. Tarver never fought any prime lightheavies that were in the same realm as those 3. Now yet again, WAS ANTONIO TARVER A BETTER LIGHTHEAVY THAN ROY JONES JR? I don't expect you to answer

You are truly an imbecile. And you're an excusemaker that is being disengenuous as well. Let me make it perfectly clear. I NEVER WROTE GLEN JOHNSON COULDN'T FIGHT. I NEVER WROTE THAT ERIC HARDING COULDN'T FIGHT. What the **** is wrong with you? I wrote they were good which I've always thought. But the fact remains that Johnson already had 8 or 9 losses when he beat Tarver. He was good, but nothing special. Same goes for Harding's level. You want to blow them up into something they are not because you're butthurt over your hero Tarver, feel free. But facts are facts. And I don't anticipate your answering my question.

3 official knockdowns in 38 fights , two of which by blown up middleweights and the other by a guy with a whopping 25% KO ratio. Yeah Tarver's a real Oliver McCall lol.

Now tell me a meaningful win Jones had after the first Tarver fight? I'll be waiting a while because he didn't have one and that's because he was totally shot. The way he struggled in the first Tarver fight is a fair indication that he was on the down hill slide. Better fighters than Tarver had never made Jones struggle like that.

The 300 amateur fights mean squat because we're talking about his pro career and you made the totally bullsh1t statement that he was supposedly "unknockoutable" at 175, even though he was down thrice in under 40 fights, x2 by smaller men and once by a feather fisted Lt Heavy. I think your statement is the nonsensical one based on the evidence.

"Lol" means your feelings are hurt for some reason. Ditto "shot."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't Leslie Stewart's win column entirely based on beating Marvin Johnson?

Glen Johnson was a construction worker who took a lot of close loses on the road early in his career. His career from 2003 until losing to Dawson was very good and he had moments after and before that too.

You keep telling yourself that when your claims about Tarver's indestructibility has been broken down and found badly wanting.

Drum these facts into your skull again before you go off and make a horsesh1t statement like that again about a fighter. Tarver was dropped by two middleweights (one of whom never, ever scored a KO at 175) and a feather fisted Lt Heavyweight who Tarver fled from for the entire 12th round to avoid being KO'd.

So again your claim deserves a LOL because it was baseless and stupid, oh and RJJ was the poster boy for a shot fighter when Tarver beat him and Tarvers's entire reputation as a pro is based off that. Tarver was the definition of medium talent.

Do you understand what a flash knockdown is?

Have you finished a fight with a broken jaw?

Do you understand that certain fighters never come back after being knocked out cold or beaten down?

Tarver came back from losing to Harding to basically ruin his career. He did the same thing to Roy Jones. Boxing is partly mental.

Antonio Tarver-Marvin Johnson is a toss up to me. Tarver was the better boxer. But Johnson had such great fighting spirit. I really miss watching him.

I do not get all the hate for Tarver. He has some good names on his record. That being said, I think Johnson outhustles him to win a decision.

I personally don't hate Tarver. I simply believe he's overrated. You don't have to hate someone to believe he's overrated. He was good but I simply don't rate him as highly as others. But Tarver "outhustles" Johnson? Johnson was known for his workrate, Tarver wasn't.
