Chisora - Parker alone would do about 250k. Not convinced Taylor vs Prograis, no matter how good a fight it is on paper, does that and it’ll probably do the same numbers...Seems they’re using the profile of the HWs to jump Taylor into the mainstream. Especially after Chisora’s rant.

Yeah true. That first point. Haye v Bellew 1 was a completely meaningless fight yet it was huge in the UK.

I mean it meant absolutely nothing because if Haye beat Bellew, how on earth would it mean he is ready to challenge Joshua by beating a CW?! And Bellew beating Haye meant nothing because he wasn’t staying at HW after.

Of course Chisora v Parker is not on the level of Haye-Bellew for hype and popularity but even then it is actually meaningful because it’s a good win for either fighter especially by KO.

Exactly m8,taylor/Prograis headlining legitimises the card for ppv.

I think Chisora's worth is being inflated a fair bit here. He's also been in plenty of stinkers, as has Parker. I actually think Taylor is more popular than being given credit for in these discussions as well. I know probably of about 12-15 people going to that fight and not one of them has purchased a ticket because of Chisora-Parker. It's a nice addition and I agree that it will be bringing more on an individual basis than Taylor-Prograis but with the same disparity that some are suggesting, especially given that the WBSS has been on Sky too.

I'd be happier if the more meaningful fights were higher up the bill more often. If the casuals want to **** off for the main event then even better as the trains will be less busy

Never defeated the Champion in the ring to win his title - Mr T Fury would play with him

How can a unification world title fight not be better or popular than a average heavyweight fight. ?

Because casual fans seem to matter more than actual boxing fans

It’s a shame but that’s the way it is.

Stand alone Parker v Chisora does more buys that Taylor Prograis. It’s scandalous.

But I suppose the casuals just love seeing a big KO.

It's very weird when you think about it. Chisora fights against boxers on the back foot are usually awful, Parker fights are usually pretty dull, neither of them are as good technically as Taylor or Prograis and it isn't even for a title. Yet it's a harder sell. I guess people just like familiarity with their lesser interests

Both Whyte V Chisora fights were great but I can see Parker not wanting any part of that. He didn't like it rough against Whyte and can see him on the back foot jabbing and clinching. I'd love this to be a tear up but I'm thinking it's stinks the joint out.

People are underestimating the effect of social media and internet these days, even casual fans can quickly educate themselves on Taylor and Prograis. It's happening already, loads of casuals are jumping on the Josh Taylor hypetrain on Twitter and YouTube already.

Thought Chisora was gonna kick off when Prograis piped up.

    Nobody cares about him, bro.

I think Del Boys annoyed by what's happening with his team and it's manifested itself in the press conference. For the record 'He's talkin' rubbish", Taylor v Prograis is a unification bout of high calibre, the closest Derrick will get to unifying is if he doesn't trim his eyebrows.
