Well, Kovalev just finished a camp, so it's probably a good thing not going through another one right away.

But Kovalev himself admitted two days ago that he "gained some weight already". He looked bigger.
Sergey needs to get back to the US asap.

    Damn.
He definitely has to get back in there right away.

*Shout out to Hopkins. He never had such issues. Gaining weight between fights? Nah,bro.

He took some huge shots in the 8th, in the US he would have been suspended from sparring and fighting for a couple of months. Also at his age and with his lifestyle up until now, he needs some rest. Thinking he won't have time to get fat and that would actually be an advantage is pretty uninformed and not at all in line with sports science. On the other hand, not being 100% does not mean he cannot win, because he can.

Why is Canelo fighting Kova a bad thing?
We as fans should be looking forward to this fight or fights like it.
Instead of praising a fighter willing to fight the dangerous fights you guys cut him down.

6 week training camps used to be the norm not too long ago. Kova took some punishment in his last fight, but only he knows how much real damage was done and how long he needs to heal up. If anything, fighting often keeps you sharp, especially at an advanced age like Kova is approaching. I believe he'll look good against Canelo, win or lose.

The main problem is the weight. With this guys drastically low/gain weight before/after the scale its a problem, because your boddy needs to rest properly. There is also intense training, diets and so many stuffs going on. And Kovalev is 36, his body recover at slowly at this age now.
Lets not forget this will be 3rd match for Kovalev in 2019, and the previous two was 12 and 11 rounds fights.
Everything is in Canelo favour. He always does this. He always fight by his rules and by his demands and where the fight make sense for him.
He is fantastic fighter, but i totally loses respect to him in the last coupe of years.
