It looks like a flash knockdown to me. Should it have counted as one? Also with that being said Lomachenko's chin seems to be pretty average. This content is protected
He was tripped. Pay attention to both guys' legs. The punch landed, but that's not the reason Loma fell.
I think his leg was in a bad position but he was clipped on the chin and dropped as a result. No doubt about it.
Doesn't seem one to me. But regardless even if you call it a knockdown, then it was a flash off balance one. And Jr still got dominated, so it doesn't change much about the fight in general. The Linares one was an infinitely more legit one, and Loma wasn't hurt much in that one too.
He wasn’t tripped, but he was off balance - as he gets clipped he was pivoting to load up on a right hand. I think it’s a knockdown, but even if you count it Loma still outclassed and beat Russell Jr.
The bitterness and desperation of the Loma haters never ceases to amaze me. You guys are grasping at straws. Their feet were obviously tangled up and Loma wasn’t affected at all by any of the punches thrown. I watched the fight several times and it was a clear domination my Loma in his third pro fight. Third pro fight! Russel was the faster guy and Loma handled him with ease. At the time it surprised me because I had Russell as my favorite going into the fight. Loma was on a different level at that time and has only gotten better with his pro experience. Meanwhile Gary Jr. has stagnated. That guy needs to fight more because he’s great to watch and is still a very skilled fighter. The OP and idiot who made the video have an obvious agenda. Also, Loma is so far above anything Ward has ever done in the ring it’s not even funny. Loma never needed gift decisions, and dirty tactics to win fights like ward. He just wins on skill like a true PFP fighter.
Loma isn’t even close to Wards achievements in the ring, this is exactly the kind of mindless ball gobbling I cannot stand.
Yeah, you could call it a KD. Loma got clipped by a cuffing counter hook when he was throwing his own when Loma got clipped by the cuffing counter hook, and that was sufficient to cause him to miss the shot with the rear hand and go over due to being off balance. Similar to how Whitaker was able to drop Haugen. Their feet were in contact, but didn't look to be tangled, really. That said, most everyone still had Loma winning by a large enough margin where a flash KD wouldn't have mattered in terms of scoring.
Get back to me when Loma has to resort to cheap dirty tactics or need a gift decision to win a fight. Ward was/is an arrogant punk who gets way more credit than he is due. I was glad when he retired. So were Kov’s balls.
Loma's chin is graded near Amir Khan-level. The thing is Loma hasn't stepped in there with bigger stronger guys like Khan has.
