Fury is really good at getting into people's heads and getting a handle on them before they set foot in the ring. He then proceeds to use his freakish reach and movement to make them fight his fight. Usyk is really good at going in blind and adapting himself to his opponent during the fight, using his insane stamina and workrate to shut them out down the stretch. Effing horrible fight to predict.
You don't "give rounds" they get taken from you Stop coping, Bellew gave Usyk all he could handle until he gassed.
No you can give rounds by not winning them. By not throwing, like Wilder did against Washington. All he could handle? The rounds he lost were still close. Usyk was never in danger of losing. What Chisora gave Whyte in 2016 was all he could handle. Or what Bowe gave Holyfield in 1993.
Usyk has made his rep fighting smaller, less powerful opponents. And these guys are not more technically skilled than anyone - especially Wlad. They're just smaller heavyweights than Fury has been fighting. These guys wing shots, get sloppy, fall over themselves ... they're just smaller and don't hit as hard as guys like Chisora. And Wlad was better than all these guys. This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected
Think both a super talented. I personally wouldn’t like to pick one and keep the splinters in my bum!! What I would say is they are quite different. Obviously ones a southpaw and one fights orthodox mostly. Think both have great characters for the sport in again different ways.
Breidis and Gassiev decapitate Chisora. Wlad was forty and well past prime. 40 year old Cunningham was giving Fury a boxing lesson until Fury laying on him wore Cunningham down.
Hilarious. They'd decapitate name heavyweights, that's why they're fighting at cruiserweight. Well, Briedis is. Gassiev hasn't fought all year. But I'm sure he'd decapitate Chisora. (sarcasm)
Pretty much this, although Tyson is the second most skilled HW after Usyk by a decent distance. For his size, he has outstanding balance and boxing ability. Ruiz probably third, his Dad probably told him "if you train two hours on the pads I'll give you a snickers bar", to which he replied, "how long for 5 snickers". That being said, it would be very hard for Usyk to beat Fury, who is too big and with his skills he can nullify Usyk's strengths. Usyk would need to use lightning movement to get in and out without face palming Fury's jab. The inside isn't Usyk's strength and he would be out muscled. If Usyk wears XXXL, Fury would be a XXXXXXXXL. Bigger discrepancy than Loma versus Campbell.
Sparring is sparring. Richard towers was an exceptional sparring partner. Joyce....probably the most made to order guy for usyk. Also Joyce has he won a heavyweight belt? No. Nistor. Great amateur. Usyk v wilder ? Fury? I don’t see it. I can maybe see him having a firefight with Ruiz and outboxing joshua. But I would generally have him as the underdog
I agree with this. The thing about Fury is he can move and box so well for a really big guy. The size coupled with his mobility and boxing ability are special. Like him or not, hes pretty unique in that way. Usyk is probably better technically but hes a big question mark at heavyweight. He was a great cruiser but I'm not sure he has the size and power to dominate at heavyweight.
