I don't think Brown's opposition was that great.

Lol and 7 years later I would rate him much lower than I did before. I just thought it was interesting seeing how my thoughts have evolved or changed.

No prizes for guessing my number 1. Here’s the feature I wrote on him. I want to edit one more time. It will be going on his official website (the only English written thing on it) and I noticed a couple of tiny spelling errors.

    https://boxeomundial.com/eder-jofre-the-golden-bantam/

I actually just got notice from his son that today they received some old copies of The Ring which I sent to them. The issue when he was ranked #1 best boxer of the 1960s and the one he was ranked #9 of the best boxers of the last 50 years (printed in 1996). I will post photos of him with the magazines soon for you guys to see.

I contacted my cousin in England who I gave a ton of my old mags to and he’s giving a couple to my dad to bring over this summer when he visits me. The 80 greatest fighters and 100 best punchers editions.

Apparently they said it’s hard to obtain these magazines in Brazil and his son sent me the recent movie made about Eder and I asked if there’s anything I can do in return and his son said he’s never seen those issues and if I could locate them he’d be grateful. Luck would have it that I had them!

My lists constantly change especially outside the top 5s but I go something like 1. Jofre 2. Olivares 3. Ortiz 4. McGovern 5. Brown 6. Herman 7. Zarate 8. Pal Moore 9. Williams 10. Herrera or Rose its a really tough call.

    Favorite fights off the top

    Olivares-Kanazawa II
    Olivares-Castillo I, II
    Jofre-Medel I
    Harada-Jofre I & II (I being a better fight)
    Ayala-Tapia I
    Marquez-Austin
    Marquez-Johnson I
    Rose-Castillo
    Herrera-Borkhosor
    Harada-Medel II

I have Canizales just outside my top 10, but I think he would have given anyone a great fight with a shot to Win, but no way to ever realy tell, I did see him have some trouble with some guys that were similar to other ATG's.

I say the same thing about Zarate, he knocked out over 35 total bums, and had trouble with every good fighter he faced, and could not even beat Pintor who is not in anyone's top 10 I've ever seen.

Wow Galaxy was never a BW, so you can scratch him off that list and Pintor well he should be just outside the top 10, he would give any ATG a war but he probably would come up short on everyone of them just by a little. And Zarate #1 talk about overrated, he KOed over 35 bums, had trouble with almost every decent fighter he faced, and could not solidly beat Pintor, so how come you have 7 guys between those 2?

I do like where you have Zarate, I've been watching a lot of fights and researching everything I can before I make my final post here, but from what I've found, and seen, Zarate seems a bit overrated to me, to be constantly rated #1 or #2 I'm still not sure he could beat 2 or 3 or so other fighters just outside the top 10, I think Canizales would give him a great fight.

Nice List, I'm glad to see Zarate is not overrated on your list as he is everywhere else, the only thing i can't agree with is Rose, good solid fighter, but definitely not top 10 Canizales over Rose for sure but neither is top 10, and i would take Pintor over Rose, Pintor and Marquez are a bit low, and in his Prime Chandler is either low top 10 or just outside of it, I've watched al lhis fights I can find, and he is quick, fast, very accurate and uses his size to great advantage, maybe not quite top 10 but he is right there.

He was unbeaten for nine years, suffered one defeat his entire career and was the generally recognised 115lbs champ for four years.

That his defeat was for the Bantamweight title of Thailand would suggest your information is incorrect.

Solid List, looks very good, Zarate definitely does not deserve the #1 or #2 spot as many place him in, anywhere from 5 on down, and I'm not so sure based on watching all of his fights lately that someone outside the top 10 wouldnt beat him, Canizales, Barry, even all would give him a run for his spot.

Why the dropping in ranking of McGovern and Dixon?

I just watched that fight earlier today, I had it about as even as it gets, you could argue for either one for the Win, I would give it a Draw, either way, pintor is not top 10 and if Zarate is or #1 or #2 as most lists and experts put him at, then Pintor is one of the very few decent guys he fought and it was that close, that's my point, he is most likely not even top 5, maybe lower in the top 10 for sure.
