Looks fine on account that he can walk back and sign autographs maybe?Physically though he doesn't look good at all,not seen him on the scales before so have nothing to compare but at a guess I'd say he's had a tough weight cut. We seen this before though and it always amazes me how they manage to put it back on and look fine on fight night.
What you describe seems like the norm in the UFC?Those pics of McGregor are truly shocking and I think there has been a death from complications with internal organs of a UFC fighter? It's all a bit of a con really?we've gone from same day weigh ins to this but clearly those extra pounds are still as important as they ever been as hardly anyone fights at their true walk around weight. Also for someone with mega talent like a Crawford,Canelo or Haney it allows them the chance to become multiple weight division champions. My guess is he will end up at Welterweight?
https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/3890232/devin-haney-mayweather-mcgregor-undercard/ Scroll down. He's actually a little thicker than Floyd and his body is still growing. Pics are from when he was 18. I think he will be Spence sized in 2-3 years.
There's one thing about Haney and that I believe his family are stinking rich? His motivation to box in what is a dangerous sport, must be very strong, given he doesn't need the money? Seems like a good kid
Wouldn't the fighter, any fighter, be better off moving up a weight rather than go through this? It seems you are going to get a sub-par performance when this drained leading up to the weigh-in. It seems like the best long-term fighters are those that only need to come down a little. Their walk around weight is maybe only 5-10% above their fight weight.
Not sure.I say family but it's his dad who's supposed to be very wealthy.Think I was it on one of those horrible Sechbac videos, think it showed Haneys flash car from Daddy.
That's why I think it's a con as they still trying to gain an edge. You're right though about it being detrimental as we see from those who impose carefully thought out catch weights and hydration clauses.Canelo got done by Floyd at 152 and if anything he and Oscar learnt first hand what a disadvantage it is to go past the point of no return. Gatti v Gamache is one that springs to mind and perhaps the worst Canelo v Chavez. There needs to be some common sense here as it will end in a fatality imo.
That’s not a accurate picture, Haney is a lot smaller than Floyd and will never be in Spence’s size. Have you even met Haney?
I agree with you, but it seems these days guys are willing to do anything for extra pounds. Everyone wants to be as big as possible by squeezing every ounce of water out until they can barely move and then piling it back. Sometimes it works and sometimes you show up completely bagged. I’m not a big fan of it either and I don’t think it’s necessary or conducive for a long career, 10% of body weight should me the max.
Bro remember when you told me Thurman does everything better than Horn, even fighting dirty, and being awkward? That backfired didn't it. I know my boxing, moha****as on this site don't, I also said Campbell was a good opponent for Loma, you probably shat on that fight. Y'all need to understand styles and actually watch full fights, I swear you motha****as think boxing is just that simple when it's complex.
