Believe he was knocked down in the second round but there is very little info online about where he was hit and whether it was hard. Disappointing really. Anyone with DAZN app, is the fight available to watch?
http://www.15rounds.com/early-results-from-new-york-12/ Here’s an article that provides a brief description of the fight. Seems like a legitimate knockdown. Disappointing but I’ll give Majidov something of a pass here, it may indicate he’s less durable than he showed in the ams but it was his debut and he did manage to stop fountain faster than anyone else did. Looking forward to seeing him next time out if they actually show it like they should have.
Nah, he's a 3 time World Amateur champion who as far I know was not stopped from 2012 to current, facing the best in the world. If he was packing glass, we'd know by now for sure. At age 32 ( He'll be 33 at the end of the month ) I think he has just enough time to get a big fight in. He should have went pro years ago... Big time puncher, solid skill set. Can be outpointed by the very best, but in the pro's he has many rounds to catch up. His chin ( which I think it at least good ) and ability to fight 12 rounds at a faster pace will determine how far he goes. Stopping Ed Fountain faster than anyone else did, is a good sign. Would have to see the knockdown to judge for myself,
Certainly doesn't hurt to have him around in any case... We need all the skilled heavyweights that we can get lol.
